Disney Koosh Ball Keychains

If you aren’t familiar Koosh balls, are jiggly porcupine balls that were all the rage in the early 90s. They were always brightly colored and were always a hit with kids and teens, even in class. I saw many friends lose theirs to the teacher’s desk as a kid! Now we can carry them wherever we go as jiggly wiggly keychains! We found them at World of Disney in Disney Springs, and they retailed for $12.99.

Each keychain has a rubber figural design of the character and a dual-colored Koosh ball. Mickey sits atop the ball with his head in his hands smiling brightly. The colors of his ball are red and yellow to match his shorts and shoes!

Minnie is striking a sassy pose for her keychain! Just like her iconic polka-dotted dress her Koosh ball colors are red and white, perfection!

Stitch is a pop-culture favorite so he’s a great third choice for this new collection keychains! He stands proudly atop his Koosh ball ready for an adventure with his new Ohana. This Koosh ball has the blue of Stitch’s body mixed with the light purple from inside his ears.

These darling Disney Koosh Ball Keychains are a fun throwback that brings back a lot of nostalgia, and I’m sure even younger kids will get a kick out of them too! Would you collect these as a souvenir from your next Disney trip?

Special thanks to the wonderful Susan for these great pics!

What to Expect When the Disneyland Resort Reopens

What to Expect When the Disneyland Resort Reopens disneyland resort

Disneyland recently announced plans to begin a phased reopening of the Disneyland Resort next month. The Downtown Disney District will begin opening July 9. Both theme parks plan to reopen July 17 (pending state and local government approval). And two of the three resort hotels will reopen July 23rd.

With the reopening comes enhanced health and safety measures along with some other changes. Let’s go over what guests can expect when the Disneyland Resort reopens.

  • Enhanced Protective Measures: Face coverings are required for both Cast Members and Guests, with the addition of hand-washing stations and physical barriers, where appropriate.
  • Physical Distancing: Theme park capacity will be reduced to enable physical distancing and appropriate signs will be added to help Guests move responsibly throughout the property.
  • Temperature Checks: All Guests will undergo temperature screenings prior to entering the Downtown Disney District or the theme parks; in addition, health screenings and temperature checks will be required daily for Cast Members.
  • Limited-Contact Enhancements: Disney is recommending cashless transactions and will reduce Cast Member and Guest interactions with helpful technology, including the expansion of Mobile Order in the Disneyland app, Apple Pay and more.
  • Enhanced Cleaning and Sanitation: Disney will build upon its existing standards of cleaning with heightened protocols.
  • Park Reservations: Because theme park capacity will be significantly limited to comply with governmental requirements and promote physical distancing, attendance will be managed through a new theme park reservation system that will require all Guests, including Annual Passholders, to obtain a reservation for park entry in advance. Theme park reservations will be subject to availability. More details about this new reservation system will be available soon.
  • New Ticket Sales: At this time, new ticket sales and Annual Passport sales and renewals are temporarily paused. Additional details will be provided soon.
  • Hotels of the Disneyland Resort: Pending governmental approval, Disneyland Resort Hotel Guests will once again enjoy being immersed in the magic when Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, and Disney Vacation Club Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa reopen to Guests and members starting on July 23, 2020. The Disneyland Hotel will open at a later date. Plans to support physical distancing as well as increased cleaning measures, along with a number of other health and safety protocols, will be implemented as part of the phased reopening of our hotels and the Disney Vacation Club.

Upon reopening, certain theme parks, hotels, restaurants and other locations may be limited in capacity and subject to restricted availability or even closure based on guidance from health experts and government officials. Furthermore, certain attractions, experiences, services and amenities will be modified, have limited availability or remain closed. Park admission and offerings are not guaranteed.

Additionally, select attractions and certain experiences that draw large group gatherings—such as parades and nighttime spectaculars—will return at a later date. While character meet-and-greets will be temporarily unavailable, Characters will be in the parks in new ways to entertain and delight Guests.

The Disneyland Resort will also have limitations on parking and operating hours. While every measure is taken to keep guests and cast members safe, an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 currently exists in any public place where people are present.

Will you be visiting Disneyland when it reopens?

Disney World to Begin Testing New Contactless Security Scanning System

Disney World to Begin Testing New Contactless Security Scanning System

Disney World has begun testing a new security scanning system ahead of the theme parks reopening next month. Testing is currently taking place in the Lime Garage at Disney Springs at the entrance to the escalator.

The new process is a scanner guests walk through that can detect firearms, IEDs, and other threats. This system is contactless which is important as Disney navigates post COVID-19 procedures.

Instagram user muggleonmainstreet shared some photos of this new system:

The system manufacturer, Evolv Express, boasts that “It is the fastest weapons-screening system on the market, consistently screening 60 people every minute for firearms and other threats. That’s 3,600 people per hour, or 10X faster than a traditional checkpoint system.”

Check out the video below to see just how it works:

Tron Coaster Construction Update

Tron Coaster Construction Update Tron coaster

Today, we have a look at an aerial view of the upcoming Tron Lightcycle Run attraction being built at Disney’s Magic Kingdom. It’s been a while since we’ve seen the construction of the Tron coaster due to the temporary closure of the Disney theme parks. Even though we don’t have a confirmed release date yet, the good news is that there’s physical evidence that construction is making progress. We’re eager to see the Tron coaster ride when it’s complete!

The first Tron attraction debuted at Shanghai Disneyland when the park opened in 2016. The ride is a roller coaster adventure through a semi-enclosed structure in Tomorrowland. Disney is currently working on constructing the Tron attraction for Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. The name of the attraction is “Tron Lightcycle Power Run” at Shanghai Disneyland. However, it’s been established that the attraction’s official name for Magic Kingdom is “Tron Lightcycle Run.”

Tron Coaster Construction Update Classic Disney Movies To Watch: Tron 6

The ride is inspired by the lightcycle vehicles shown in the Tron movies. It’s akin to a futuristic motorcycle thrill ride in a brightly lit video game environment. The ride has received fantastic reviews and critical acclaim at Shanghai Disneyland. The Magic Kingdom version is planned to debut in 2021 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World. Many Disney fans are eager to see the new Tron ride at Magic Kingdom when it opens up next year!
