NEWS: Orlando International Airport Employees Are Now Required to Wear Face Coverings

The Walt Disney World Resort will start welcoming guests again — starting with select Disney World Resort hotels — on June 22nd. (The theme parks will follow starting with Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom on July 11th followed by EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios on July 15th.)

As Walt Disney World reopens (joining Universal Orlando Resort which opened earlier this month), Orlando will naturally welcome more visitors. And many of them will, of course, arrive by way of Orlando International Airport.

Orlando International Airport (MCO) has shared on Facebook that “Effective immediately, all badged employees are required to wear a mask/face covering at the airport” as they also continue to practice social distancing. It is stated that this is “in compliance to our Mayor’s Executive Proclamation directing protective measures at MCO.”

While the requirement applies to badged workers at Orlando International Airport, travelers are encouraged to wear a face covering when in the airport, according to the same Facebook post. The post also links to an official press release by GOAA (the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority).

Again, while Disney Springs is currently open, Walt Disney World Resort is preparing to reopen to guests starting at select Resort hotels on June 22nd, followed by the theme parks in July. You can find all the latest information on the reopening of Walt Disney World Resort by visiting any of the links below.

We’ve Got Some Advice for Walt Disney World Annual Passholders on the Monthly Payment Plan

There is a lot to keep track of when it comes to the latest info for Walt Disney World Annual Passholders right now.

We’ve Got Some Advice for Walt Disney World Annual Passholders on the Monthly Payment Plan

Disney World Annual Passholder Magnet

For instance, Annual Passholders who have paid in full are — as of yesterday — just starting to see their passes extended for the number of days that the theme parks remain closed reflected in their My Disney Experience account. And today we’d like to pass on a reminder — along with some handy info — to Walt Disney World Annual Passholders on the Monthly Payment Plan.

Now, as a reminder, Passholders who utilize the Annual Pass Monthly Payment Program have had their payments waived during the closure (with regular payments set to resume when the parks reopen). Pass expiration dates will not be extended in this automated process.

However, Disney provided an alternative option for Passholders on the Monthly Payment Plan, whereby Passholders can postpone their monthly payments through the closure with payments resuming when the parks reopen, opting for their Annual Pass to be extended for the number of days the parks are closed.

Entrance to Disney’s Animal Kingdom

This option to extend is NOT automatic. As a reminder, if you wish to see your pass extended on the Monthly Payment Plan you MUST call Disney. And speaking of calling… we have an additional number you can contact.

Here’s a tip! While Disney has stated that Passholders who wish to extend their pass may call V.I.PASSHOLDER Support at (407)939-7277, there is a dedicated line for the Monthly Payment Plan participants: (888) 701-4100.

We called the dedicated line today and found that we were not transferred they were able to help with a Monthly Payment Pass extension directly on this line! It is worth mentioning, though, that we were on hold for a long time (nearly an hour). However, Disney has expressed that heavy call volume from Passholders and guests is anticipated, and states that patience is appreciated.

Read more about the options available to Walt Disney World Annual Passholders here.

We’ll be keeping you posted on all the latest information for Wat Disney World Annual Passholders — especially as we await further details on the new Theme Park reservation system that will be rolled out to Disney World guests (including Annual Passholders) soon! In the meantime, you can catch up on all the latest news surround the reopening of the Walt Disney World theme parks (which begins on July 11th with Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom, followed by EPCOT and Hollywood Studios on July 15th) by visiting any of the links below.

Shanghai Disneyland Adds 8 More Attractions to Its New Standby Pass Feature!

Shanghai Disneyland was the first Disney theme park to reopen on May 11th with several modifications.

But now that the park has been open for over a month, more attractions and guest experiences have started back up.

But those aren’t even the biggest changes. Shanghai Disneyland also recently debuted the Disney Standby Pass (a virtual queue-type system). This is a free service on Shanghai Disneyland’s app that allows guests to select a specific time frame to ride an attraction in order to “help guests better plan their queuing schedule for a more relaxed park experience.”

When Shanghai Disneyland launched Disney Standby Pass, only one attraction listed during the Trial Operation Period: The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh in Fantasyland. Today, we noticed several new attractions have been added.

Shanghai Disneyland’s website still states, “the corresponding attractions are only open to guests who hold either a Disney Standby Pass or Disney Premier Access for the corresponding time period.” Note: Disney Standby Pass is still in its Trial Operating Period and will be open for further refinement.

The new Disney Standby Pass is now being offered in addition to Disney Premier Access (which is available for purchase) and Disney Fastpass, and the site notes that: “Guests may purchase Disney Premier Access for any attraction while also holding a Disney Standby Pass or Disney Fastpass.”

Disney Standby Passes will continue to be released in the app on an hourly basis, based on that day’s official park operating hours. Each Disney Standby Pass corresponds to a 60-minute interval of time and the quota distributed for each day will be limited.
