The attraction may be world famous, and you’ll surely attract some praise of your own in this dress inspired by the Jungle Cruise ride. A soft teal base pairs with an allover pattern of retro-cartoon-style animals and scenes from the ride. Camp shirt style pockets are on the chest and a contrasting shirt collar with ”Jungle Cruise” embroidered on back add lots of adventurous style.

You can find this dress at shopDisney online. We spotted this dress inside Main Street Jewelers. It costs $128.00, which is in line with other Disney dresses.

Updates to the Virtual Queue for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

One of the biggest problems when you have a hot newish attraction that was already difficult to ride before the pandemic is how you handle this attraction, with physical distancing in place. That has been the problem with the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge attraction, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Back when the park reopened on July 15, the attraction once again offered the virtual queue system, yet this time, Disney decided to stagger the times in which boarding passes were released. The big problem (and granted it was a big problem before all this physical distancing was required) is that the boarding pass system fills up almost immediately.

Due to the demand, Disney will only be offering an opportunity to join the virtual queue now at 10:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m. These two opportunities are intended to give guests more flexibility in their planning, and are also a way to further support physical distancing.

Here’s more about what you need to know about being able to obtain a boarding pass:

  • Make sure you have the My Disney Experience app. Once you enter the park, you’ll need to log in to your account at one of the three distribution times.
  • Once you have logged in, select “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Virtual Queue” on the home screen. You will be able to view the current status and learn the next steps for joining the virtual queue.
  • The app will indicate when there is no availability for a specific distribution time. Like before, backup groups will be available.
  • As long as your My Disney Experience account is linked to park tickets for you and the others in your group, you can enroll everyone in the virtual queue at the same time. Guests can only enter the virtual queue once per day.
  • Guests will want to make sure push notifications are turned on for My Disney Experience. This will allow you will be alerted if your group is called to return.
  • Guests will have up to an hour from the time of the alert to go to the entrance of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance to be able to ride the attraction.
  • Joining the virtual queue does not guarantee the ability to experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
  • If you have any questions or need assistance with joining the virtual queue, Cast Members at Guest Experience Team locations throughout the park are available to assist.

Currently, this is the only attraction where Guests will need to “reserve” their spot in line. For other attractions at Walt Disney World Resort, the regular standby queues are in use. Fastpass+ is not available.

Uva Bar — Better Know a Restaurant

It remains the case that the Disneyland Resort parks are closed for the time being, so we wanted to take a deep dive into one of our favorite places you CAN visit, Uva Bar at Downtown Disney for this bonus installment of our “Better Know a…” series.

Uva Bar — Better Know a Restaurant Uva Bar

What is Uva Bar?

Uva Bar is an open-air lounge and restaurant located smack dab in the middle of the action at Downtown Disney. While it does have a full menu, it works particularly well as a place to grab a cocktail or a quick bite.

Where is Uva Bar?

Uva Bar is near Catal Restaurant (with which it is affiliated — they are both Patina Group properties). Walking from the esplanade, it will be about half way to the Disneyland Hotel, right in the middle of the walkway. It’s one of the more visible spots in Downtown Disney; you won’t be able to miss it.

What You Need to Know About the Menu at Uva Bar

The menu at Uva is straightforward, featuring sandwiches, salad, and several appetizer dips, most of which have a Mediterranean flair. There is an extensive cocktail and craft beer menu, and there are several wines available by the glass, highlighting that the food, while good enough, isn’t the primary draw here.

What the Dining Experience Is Like at Uva Bar

While it does have a menu that would permit you to have a proper meal, it really excels as a lounge. When the weather is nice, it’s also one of the best places to just sit and take in the atmosphere and relax. While there is a kids’ menu, it’s really an experience that caters to adults.

What are Some Items to Target at Uva Bar?

The appetizers tend to be some of the stronger menu items.  For those looking for something heavier, the fish tacos with citrus coleslaw and chipotle aïoli are excellent.

What You Need to Know About Accessibility for Uva Bar

Uva Bar is fully accessible and should not present any unique challenges for visitors in wheelchairs or ECVs.

Does Weather Affect Uva Bar?

While most of the bar and dining area are covered by large shade umbrellas, it is an entirely outdoor restaurant. Many of the seats can probably tolerate a light drizzle without serious problems, but actual rain is going to leave you wet.

What is a Good Time to Visit Uva Bar?

Because of its popularity as a place to grab a drink, Uva doesn’t necessarily follow traditional restaurant traffic patterns, with people visiting both in the afternoon and evening as well as meal times. Lunch and shortly thereafter tends to see the lightest crowds..

Are you a fan of Uva Bar? What’s your favorite dish? Let us know in the comments!
