REVIEW – Enjoy Festive Food, Drinks, and Decorations at Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar

Who would have thought that a bar loosely themed around the Indiana Jones movies would get into the holiday spirit? But sure enough, Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar at Disney Springs is perhaps the most festive lounge in all of Walt Disney World this year, especially since Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto still has not reopened. Jock Lindsay’s is full of great detail and theming, but during the holiday season it is filled with bright and colorful decorations. Plus, festive food and drinks are added to the menu. A stop inside Jock Lindsey’s during the holiday season is a must when visiting Disney Springs.

There are three holiday theme cocktails on the menu, plus a Cranberry Kringle beer, and a specialty cookie platter served with a small carafe of Coquito with Malibu Rum – more on that later. The Holiday Nog, one of the cocktails, is a big hit with most everyone.

Festive Decor at Jock Lindsey’s

Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar is indeed a bar–an elaborately themed bar, but a bar nonetheless. That being the case, the food menu consists of small bites. Our team ordered all three of the Holiday Exclusive food items, plus the Milk and Cookies by the Fireside.

  • C9 Light Deviled Eggs – Colored Eggs with Shrimp and Tobiko Caviar -$12.00
  • Papa Noel’s Churrasco – Grilled Flank Steak with Pumpkin Seed Chimichurri, Fried Sweet Plantains, and Spicy Aji Amarillo Peanut Sauce – $14.00
  • Grandma’s Favorite Sliders – Venison Sliders with Cranberry Bacon Jam, Tomato and Watercress – $14.00
  • Milk and Cookies by the Fireside – Coquito with Malibu Rum with Chocolate Peppermint Gingerbread Men, Spiced Sugar Christmas Tree Cookie, and Butter Pecan Signature Cookie – $25.00

C9 Light Deviled Eggs at Jock Lindsey’s

The C9 Light Deviled Eggs conjure the image of large C9 lightbulbs, and are colored red and green. The shrimp with the tobiko caviar certainly is a different take on how to top a deviled egg. For having such interesting toppings, the flavor was weak. We suggest heading to Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ if you’re in the mood for deviled eggs.

Papa Noel’s Churrasco at Jock Lindsey’s

For something hearty and a little spicy, the Papa Noel’s Churrasco was a hit! The Spicy Aji Amarillo Peanut Sauce brings a nice heat that isn’t too strong. The cook on the steak was nice, and stacked into the shape of a Christmas tree – a very flavorful plate. Another savory plate, Grandma’s Favorite Sliders, was another hit. The venison itself was high quality and the Cranberry Bacon Jam should be bottled and sold!

For dessert, the Milk and Cookies by the Fireside is meant for sharing. Six small cookies are served on a platter with a small carafe of Coquito in the center. Originating in Puerto Rico, Coquito is a holiday, coconut-based alcoholic beverage, similar to eggnog. Malibu Rum is mixed with Jock’s version of Coquito.

Our website and our Lines app have listings and ratings for all Walt Disney World restaurants and lounges. Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar has a 91% thumbs up rating and is ranked number 29 out of 58 other Walt Disney World lounges.

If you like kitschy style Christmas decorations, festive music, and themed food and drink, you’re sure to have a great time at Jock Lindsey’s during the holiday season. The interior is decked out in holiday decorations, as is the exterior. There is an outdoor dining area, but it is not decorated all that much. Still, a visit to Jock’s is a must if you want to immerse yourself in as much festive fun as possible.

Have you ever visited Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar? Would you try any of these festive offerings?

Take a Look at the Rooms and More from the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser

It looks like things are certainly moving forward with the Star Wars-themed hotel at Walt Disney World called Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser! Today, we learned some new details about what Guests will experience during this cruise-like experience on dry land.

For those who don’t know what this hotel will be like, it will really be unlike anything you’ve ever done, unless you’ve been on a cruise ship. (And after seeing the photos of the rooms, they certainly feel very reminiscent of a stateroom on a ship.) Each passenger cabin will feature its own window with a view of space, including ships and galactic sights.

Guests will take part in a two-day and two-night vacation and it will be an all-immersive experience that will take you to a galaxy far, far away in a way that only Disney could create. The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser isn’t a traditional hotel, instead the goal is for you to become the hero of your own adventure as you are surrounded 24/7 in Star Wars storytelling.

Guests will cruise the galaxy onboard the ship called the Halcyon. While on the “ship” you’ll stay in well-appointed cabins, experience onboard dining, make a planet-side excursion via special passenger transport to Black Spire Outpost on Batuu and much more. While onboard, Guests will be ale to do things like wield a lightsaber while facing off against a training remote, visit the starcruiser’s Bridge to learn about ship systems, as well as how to operate them.

Guests will also be able to enjoy a drink in The Silver C Lounge, which is a warm place for passengers of all ages. See….it’s really like a cruise on land. You may also be able to sneak into the Engineering Room where you can discover the inner workings of the ship.

Reservations were supposed to open later this year, but COVID, of course, set that back a bit. Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, when it does officially open in 2021 will be a luxury resort that meets adventure in a galaxy far, far away.

A Look at the Web Slinger Vehicle For Upcoming Spider-Man Attraction at Disney California Adventure

Avengers Campus appears as though it’s close to being done, given that the land was supposed to open on July 18 at Disney California Adventure, prior to the park closing in March due to COVID and today, we got a very brief glimpse at what the WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure ride vehicles are going to look like, in real life.

Now, in a blink and you miss it and very dark video clip that was shared during the IAAPA Expo: Virtual Education Conference, there was a very quick glimpse of the ride vehicles in action for this upcoming attraction.

Too dark for you? You can catch the vehicle moving in action here and maybe see it just a bit better:

In the attraction, Guests will enter the Worldwide Engineering Brigade, or WEB. Here, they are testing a revolutionary “Web Slinger” vehicle when something goes wrong and you’ll have to help Spider-Man clean up all of the Spider-Bots that are now on the loose.

The most interesting part of the web slinger attraction is that there are no web guns or any other kind of special equipment needed to shoot webs. All you’ll have to do is just stretch out your hand and shoot!

WEB-SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure will be part of the new Avengers Campus land where Guests will be be able to step into the world of the Avengers and be recruited as the next generation of superheroes alongside those iconic Marvel heroes.

More details about what to expect in the land can be found here. Of course, with Disneyland Resort having no official time-table on when it will reopen, there’s no word on when Avengers Campus, and with that, WEB-SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure will be opening now.

Incredible Video and Updated Details of EPCOT’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

Holy cow! Disney shared some additional details about the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind attraction for EPCOT and let me tell you….it looks amazing!

For those who don’t know, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will be a family-friendly “storytelling coaster”. The attraction will feature a groundbreaking ride system with vehicles that rotate 360 degrees and includes the first reverse launch on a Disney coaster!

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is being called an Omnicoaster and it is a first- of-its-kind programmable roller coaster ride system, where Guests can be rotated along the ride track in any direction courtesy of the ride vehicle while traveling at high speeds. Take a look at the video that was released here to see just how fantastic this attraction is going to be:

The Omnicoaster name gets its identity because it builds upon the Omnimover ride system (ie – the system that’s in place for attractions like The Haunted Mansion and Spaceship Earth) in which the attraction vehicles are able to turn Guests in any direction and focus their attention on a specific scene or element.

In the overview video that was show today during the IAAPA Expo: Virtual Education Conference (which is a big expo that happens yearly for those in the theme park industry), we also got to see footage of what the attraction looks like inside that giant building that houses the attraction.

Disney, courtesy of Imagineer Zach Ridley also recently shared a photo of the attraction vehicles on their social media:

A post shared by Zach Riddley (@thezachriddley)

In Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Guests will enter in the “Galaxarium,” a planetarium-like exhibition that explores the similarities and mysteries of the formation of Earth’s galaxy and Xandar. Then the Guardians of the Galaxy arrive and, as most themed attractions go, everything goes haywire.

For those who are curious, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is being built in the former location of Universe of Energy. There is still no official opening date for the attraction.
