This year instead of the icicle “Dream Lights” surrounding Cinderella Castle, the upgraded projection technology is used to give the castle an amazing appearance after dark. Starting around 6 p.m. and changing every 15 minutes or so, often with a small shower of fireworks to signal the change, Cinderella Castle is transformed with a variety of appearances. Here’s some photos that we captured recently during our visit to Magic Kingdom.

Yesterday our field team spent the entire day at Magic Kingdom testing out touring plans. We perform this kind of testing regularly to ensure our resources and tools are up to date for our subscribers. And yes, it’s a fun gig. Our team started their day at rope drop – which we highly recommend. They were let into the park shortly after 8:00 a.m. And they stayed in the park well into the evening.

Of course, once the magic of rope drop wore off, things got busier in Magic Kingdom. In fact, yesterday was a very busy day in all four parks – check out yesterday’s wait times.

Every so often, Disney releases a film that gets a hearty meh at the box office and then becomes a secret fan favorite. One of those films is The Emperor’s New Groove. This year celebrates The Emperor’s New Groove’s 20th anniversary, and there’s plenty of merchandise to be found. Here’s some of our favorites that we found.

Box Lunch

At Box Lunch, there’s a variety of shirts (long sleeve, short sleeve, tank tops, youth and adult sizes, men’s and women’s cuts), plus y0u can find a Yzma wallet, a Loungefly backpack, and journal.

Over at shopDisney, there’s a lot less merchandise, but there’s still a few neat items including a limited-edition pin set, a t-shirt for fans of Kronk (and his spinach puffs), and a highly impractical but pretty neat mug.

Hot Topic

Hot Topic offers wall art, a Kuzco stocking, an Extract of Llama necklace, an Yzma collectible figure, Funko POP figure, and Loungefly pencil case, plus many of the shirts found at Box Lunch.

One of the joys of the holiday season is delighting someone you care about with a gift they will love. For any Disney fan in your life you can make a custom gift basket at select Disney Resort Hotel merchandise shops. If you’re staying at Walt Disney World for the holidays or are in the local area, these custom gift baskets are thoughtful and adorable. At Disney’s Grand Floridian we spotted some pre-made Holiday baskets.

During big holidays like Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day you can usually pick up special gift baskets at the merchandise shop of most Disney Resort Hotels. During Valentine’s Day we spotted gift baskets for purchase at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort.  And during Halloween we found gift baskets at Fantasia Gifts, located on the concourse level of Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

If you do not see any gift baskets on display, ask a Cast Member if they have the option to build one. At Disney’s Wilderness Lodge the team there said they can create a basket using practically any merchandise items in the store. The cost is the cost of the merchandise itself plus a $7.00 fee for the service. Not a bad deal for a custom Disney gift.
