Walt Disney World Wait Times for Wednesday, November 4, 2020

If there was ever a day in which I didn’t want to see any more numbers anywhere, it’s today. But Disney World is a welcome thing to focus on, so let’s do those numbers.  We received 114 actual wait times today across Walt Disney World.  We also counted 500 people today at Hollywood Studios, and 481 of them (97%) were wearing masks in accordance with Disney’s guidelines.

Hollywood Studios Wait Times

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster’s average posted wait time today was 50 minutes, a bit above its 7-day average of 46 minutes, so today ranks #1 for this week. We received 4 actual wait times today, probably none from Steven Tyler though, and the actual wait averaged 96% of the posted wait time.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror had an average wait time today of 48 minutes, 3 over its 7-day average of 45 minutes, so today ranks #1 for this week. Its 30-day average is 48 minutes, so today ranks #12 for the past month. Its 365-day average is 61 minutes, so today ranks #144 for the past year. We received 5 actual wait times today, none that we know of from Rod Serling, and the actual wait averaged 74% of the posted wait time.

Its 30-day average is 80 minutes, so today ranks #21 for the past month. We received 6 actual wait times today, and because we have no idea what Chris Diamantopoulos looks like, we don’t know if he sent in any of those times.  But they averaged 85% of the posted wait.

Rise of the Resistance boarding groups started a bit later than usual today, but ran well until 4 p.m, when there was an hour-long pause before starting back up.  We’re above boarding group 90 as I write this, so things seem to have straightened out.

REVIEW – Thanksgiving and Holiday Treats at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

We may have a big hole in our hearts this year as there will not be a gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. However, we’ve got some news that may help a little. Gasparilla Island Grill has Thanksgiving and Holiday Treats now available. We couldn’t wait to hop in our one horse open sleigh to try out these new treats.

  • Maple Leaf Cookie Sandwich – Cinnamon Sablé Cookie filled with a Maple Praline Buttercream and decorated in Festive Fall Colors, $4.99
  • Pumpkin Pie Jumbo Cake Pop – Pumpkin Spice Jumbo Cake Pop enrobed in White Chocolate to resemble an Autumn Pumpkin, $7.99
  • Cinnamon-Apple Almond Tart – Cinnamon-spiced Frangipane in a Sweet Tart Shell topped with Pastry Cream, Poached Apples, and Crunchy Rice Croquant, $5.49

REVIEW – Thanksgiving and Holiday Treats at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

We’ll start off with the Maple Leaf Cookie Sandwich since that is listed as a “Thanksgiving Exclusive”. This is an indulgent, yet elegant treat. It’s simplicity is gorgeous and the maple praline buttercream is very sweet and rich.

The Pumpkin Pie Cake Jumbo Cake is a returning favorite we enjoyed during the Halloween season, except during the spooky season this jumbo cake pop was dressed up as Jack Skellington. Now it is redecorated with traditional fall adornments and is still as delicious as ever. If you can’t get enough pumpkin pie flavor in your life you need to get to the Grand Floridian to pick this one up. It is large enough to share with 2-3 people.

The lightest of the three holiday treats is the Cinnamon-Apple Almond Tart. This tart is a great fit for Grand Floridian. It is refined and flavorful without being too heavy. The poached apples and the pastry cream make it a little difficult to eat, and it’s a little crumbly. The green orbs you see above that look like green grapes are the poached apples. This is a great choice if you want fall flavors while being light.

PHOTOS – Holiday Decorations and Christmas Tree Arrive at Magic Kingdom

This year marks one of the earliest days of the year that Magic Kingdom has transformed into its holiday attire. With the lack of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, Christmas décor went up one day earlier than normal. Although the full holiday programming does not start until November 6, it is lovely to be at Magic Kingdom with its holiday finery. The Christmas Tree is so tall and so classic. The garlands and wreaths along Main Street USA bring back memories of many magical holiday seasons past.

With all that we’re facing this year it feels nice and comforting to see Magic Kingdom’s classic holiday decoration, toy soldiers, and towering tree. Our own Ivonne (@servoisnaked on Twitter and Instagram) captured all of these great photos from day to night.
