Lightsaber Hair Sticks

But today, we think we might have topped it! You’ll see what we mean in a sec!

While Star Wars fans might prefer to keep rockin’ their Lightsaber Hair Sticks with a messy bun, Toy Story peeps finally have a weird hair accessory to call their very own! Introducing: Ducky and Bunny Hair Scrunchies!

We’re ANSWERING ALL Your Questions About the Reopened Disney World Hotels

As of June 22nd, select Disney World Resort hotels have reopened!

We’re ANSWERING ALL Your Questions About the Reopened Disney World Hotels

Beach Club Resort in Disney World

With several major changes to the Disney World Resort hotel experience, we’re here to help you get a feel for what it’s like to visit a newly reopened hotel! So, without further ado, let’s take a look at the answers to your frequently asked questions about Disney World hotels!

Which Disney World hotels will be reopening?

While previously we knew that Disney Vacation Club resorts and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort would be reopening on June 22nd, Disney recently released a complete list of which hotels will be available for guests soon!

We’re ANSWERING ALL Your Questions About the Reopened Disney World Hotels

Disney World Hotel Reopening Dates ©Disney

Disney hasn’t officially said when Disney’s All-Stars Resorts, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort (both French Quarter and Riverside), Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House (non-DVC rooms) or Disney’s Wilderness Lodge (non-DVC rooms) will reopen, but we’ll be monitoring the situation and hopefully will be able to provide more information soon.

Which Disney World restaurants will be reopening?

At first, Disney only confirmed a few restaurants would be reopening on June 22nd (you can view the full list here). And for now, Topolino’s Terrace’s breakfast is the only character meal being offered at Disney World.

We’re ANSWERING ALL Your Questions About the Reopened Disney World Hotels

Hi Mickey!

But now, Disney has shared its FULL LIST of restaurants that will be reopening July 11th and July 15th.

Some dining experiences may be modified — we just learned Be Our Guest Restaurant will only be offering a table service Prix Fixe lunch and dinner menu while breakfast is being discontinued for the time being.

When dining in Disney World, guests can also use the new Mobile Dine Check-In feature which you can read more about here.

Disney has also confirmed which attractions, entertainment, and shops will be reopening soon.

Are rooms being left vacant for 24-48 hours between guests?

Universal Studios has stated they would try to allow 24-48 hours to pass between reusing their guests’ rooms, but Disney World hasn’t made any official statements regarding this matter.

We’re ANSWERING ALL Your Questions About the Reopened Disney World Hotels

Bay Lake Tower

From our experience today, there appears to be a fraction of the guests that these hotels normally see, and the Disney World resorts feel really empty.

See how Disney World has modified its guest rooms here!

What’s going on with Club level?

All Club-level service will be temporarily unavailable until further notice.

We’re ANSWERING ALL Your Questions About the Reopened Disney World Hotels

Bay Lake Tower

In-room celebrations, dry cleaning, and valet laundry services are also not occurring at this time.

Laundry Services

Self-service laundry facilities are still available at this time for Disney World resort guests to use.

Self-Service Laundry

Guests can also utilize the Laundry View app to see if a washer or dryer is available or check if their laundry’s done before leaving their room! Read more about this free feature that makes doin’ laundry at Disney World less of a hassle here!

Will I still receive a gift card if I choose to decline housekeeping services?

Before the temporary closures, Disney World’s moderate and value resorts offered guests a Disney gift card worth $10 for each night of their stay, excluding their final night, if folks opted out of daily housekeeping services. It was called the Service Your Way promotion and it wasn’t made available at Disney World’s deluxe resorts.

However, we confirmed with a manager today Service My Way will is not being offered for the time being. All guests may choose to decline housekeeping regardless of whichever resort they’re staying at, but as of right now, they won’t be issuing gift cards if you decide to forgo cleaning services.

Will Disney’s Magical Express deliver your luggage to your room?

Disney’s Magical Express is running back and forth from Orlando International Airport and will shuttle your luggage to your resort.

We’re ANSWERING ALL Your Questions About the Reopened Disney World Hotels

Disney’s Magical Express Bus

However, Bell Services cannot drop off your luggage unless someone is in the room. For us, it has been hard to get a call through to Bell Services and it took quite some time to receive our luggage. But Disney has stated Cast Members are still able to deliver luggage to rooms — just not escort guests to their rooms.

What other deliveries are being handled at the Resorts? Can I get food delivered if I’m there to receive it?

Grocery delivery is a convenient (and often cheaper!) way to get common goods such as bottled water, breakfast cereal, diapers, and other items sent to your resort.

We’re ANSWERING ALL Your Questions About the Reopened Disney World Hotels

Contemporary Resort

We’ve been able to confirm services such as Instacart, Garden Grocer, or any packages you have mailed to your hotel up to a week before your arrival date can still be delivered to your resort. You can also still get food delivered to your resort via Postmates, Grubhub, or any other delivery service. Note that there’s a $6 fee charged if you want any delivery brought to your room, otherwise you can pick it up at the front desk area.

Read more about having groceries or packages delivered to your newly reopened Disney World resort here!

Are the resort fitness centers open?

In addition to most of the resorts’ pools we’ve visited today, we’ve noticed Disney World resorts’ fitness centers are open but mostly vacant.

We’re ANSWERING ALL Your Questions About the Reopened Disney World Hotels

Fitness Center

Some locations may have reduced hours and capacity, and instructor-led fitness classes will not be available for the time being. Fitness and sports courts are also open with social distancing in place.

Are the resort still providing free shampoo and conditioner?

Mini toiletries are still available at the resorts that previously offered them. We found these in our room at Bay Lake Tower this afternoon.

We’re ANSWERING ALL Your Questions About the Reopened Disney World Hotels

Mini Toiletries

Meanwhile, larger dispensers of body wash, shampoo, and conditioner are still installed on the wall at the resorts which had them prior.

We’re ANSWERING ALL Your Questions About the Reopened Disney World Hotels

Toiletries

Like we’ve recently seen at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort with their in-room shower products, the bottles are being freshly sanitized between guests’ stays, and sealed with a plastic wrapper with a “clean” sticker.

Is grab-and-go food available? Can I take off my mask to eat it if I’m walking around? Can I eat by the pool?

Convenient grab-and-go items are still available at the select restaurants that have reopened. Although all the snacks you’re used to might not be available (we noticed bakery cases aren’t being stocked with fresh goods in most places quite yet).

We’re ANSWERING ALL Your Questions About the Reopened Disney World Hotels

Cove Bar

Tables have been spaced apart and guests are allowed to remove their face masks while they’re seated, lounging, or swimming in most Disney World pool areas.

Tables at Riviera Resort’s Pool

We got a few mixed answers regarding when face masks must be worn at the resorts’ pools. One lifeguard said if guests are walking around the pool deck, they’ll ask you to wear to your face masks. Other resorts told us face masks are “strongly recommended” in pool areas (basically once you pass through the gates) but are no longer mandatory once you’re inside.

See what it’s like to swim in a newly reopened Disney World resort’s pool!

Can I visit other resorts’ quick service restaurants?

A confirmed dining reservation is required for day Guests (those not staying overnight) and is highly recommended for Guests staying overnight at a Disney Resort hotel — that’s their official word on the matter and was confirmed by several Security Cast Members we spoke to today. Our dining reservations were checked before being permitted to enter a resort other than where we have our hotel reservation.

Lunch at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

However, we noticed after our dining reservation at Grand Floridian Cafe at Disney’s Grand Floridian, the walkway to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort was open and guests could walk back and forth between the two resorts after initially getting into one. The same is true if you have a reservation (resort or dining) at Disney’s Beach Club or Disney’s BoardWalk Inn.

Click here to see what we thought of reopened Grand Floridian Cafe!

Are the Disney World resorts allowing Ride Share?

Ride Share services are currently being allowed inside Disney World resorts to drop off or pick up guests. They are also allowed at Disney Springs.

Disney Springs

For now, Minnie Vans are temporarily unavailable and will resume at a later date.

Is there a capacity limit for pools?

Disney World has stated there would be a limit to how many people are allowed to swim at one time, however, there were very few people at the pools today, so there wasn’t a need for guests to wait outside for their turn to enter.

We’re ANSWERING ALL Your Questions About the Reopened Disney World Hotels

Riviera Resort’s Pool

There were several lounge chairs available and signs that asked guests not to move chairs around since they’ve been spaced apart for social distancing. We hope to learn more details regarding what exactly are the pools’ capacities limited to at a later date.

Is pin trading still happening?

Pin trading hasn’t been happening anywhere at Disney World between guests and Cast Members since the closures, and now that the resorts have reopened, we can officially say it’s not currently happening at the hotels either.

We’re ANSWERING ALL Your Questions About the Reopened Disney World Hotels

Pin Trading Board

Pinboards are potentially available at hotel gift shops, but pin books and boards at the front desk have been suspended. Disney is probably aware that they cannot entirely eliminate pin trading that takes place between two guests, but for now, it looks like we’ll have to wait and see if and when pin trading with Cast Members resumes again.

Click here to learn more about the current status of pin trading at Disney World!

We know this is a BIG change to finally get back inside the Disney World hotels and we’re here to answer any and all questions that you may have. Keep firing off those questions you may have about the Disney World resort hotels, and we’ll keep answering them for you!

FIRST LOOK! Here’s What’s Different About Beaches and Cream in Disney World

Who’s up for a treat? We’re back at one of our favorite ice cream spots for the first time since mid-March!

FIRST LOOK! Here’s What’s Different About Beaches and Cream in Disney World

Beaches and Cream

And while the to-go window is now open, we’ve got a dining reservation to eat inside! Join us as we step inside a newly reopened Beaches and Cream to check out their offerings — which usually come topped with tons of whipped cream and a cherry! FIRST LOOK! Here’s What’s Different About Beaches and Cream in Disney World ?

Arriving and Checking In

Beaches and Cream is one of the many dining locations in Disney World participating in the new Mobile Dine Check-InWith this new feature on the My Disney Experience app, we did not have to check-in at any host stand.

Mobile Dine Check-In

Instead, you receive a push notification when your check-in window opens, or you can scan a QR code that’s placed next to the stand to let the Beaches and Cream folks know when you’ve arrived!

Once you virtually check-in, you’ll receive a separate notification when your table is ready! Looks like it’s time to go in!

Seating and Menu

Like every other newly reopened dining location we’ve checked out in Disney World, tables and seating are now spaced out to accommodate physical distancing.

FIRST LOOK! Here’s What’s Different About Beaches and Cream in Disney World

Beaches and Cream Seating

We noticed all of the records have been removed from Beaches and Cream’s famous jukebox and haven’t quite made their way back yet! Luckily, there was still a little music playing in the background (one someone’s phone!) but towards the end of our meal, it got a little quiet when the Cast Member went home and took their tunes with them! Kind of weird to sit in a silent Beaches and Cream.

Let’s Listen to Some Oldies!

Condiments like ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise are also only available to individually wrapped packets for now, so if you were hoping to see Beaches and Cream’s cute squeeze bottles, you’re outta luck!

It’s been a long time since we got to DIVE into one of these bad boys, so without further delay, let’s get to the FOOD!

Eats

We had worked up quite the appetite today, so we went with the French Dip Sandwich, Beaches & Cream Grilled Cheese, and Cheddar Bacon Ranch Chicken Sandwich!

FIRST LOOK! Here’s What’s Different About Beaches and Cream in Disney World

Beaches & Cream

Even though we were anxious to skip right to dessert, Beaches and Cream’s food is truly delicious, too — hence one of the reasons why we’re so obsessed with this joint! The French Dip Sandwich was truly on point! The crunchy onion straws added some nice texture and the au jus was rich and meaty! The tater tots that came on the side were nice and crispy too!

FIRST LOOK! Here’s What’s Different About Beaches and Cream in Disney World

The Cheddar Bacon Ranch Chicken Sandwich was super yummy, too! Packed with tons of flavor thanks to all that melty cheese and BACON! The fries were perfectly golden brown and crispy as well.

FIRST LOOK! Here’s What’s Different About Beaches and Cream in Disney World

Cheddar Bacon Ranch Chicken Sandwich

And even though it’s one of Beaches and Cream’s most simple offerings, we LOVE their Grilled Cheese! The bread is so buttery and toasty while the cheese is all melty and gooey. You’re never too old to enjoy such a good Grilled Cheese Sandwich done right!

FIRST LOOK! Here’s What’s Different About Beaches and Cream in Disney World

Beaches & Cream Grilled Cheese

And of course, the moment we’ve ALL been waiting for! Bring on the ice cream!

We almost cried when we laid eyes on this Fudge Mudslide Sundae, complete with Oreo cookie Mickey ears!

FIRST LOOK! Here’s What’s Different About Beaches and Cream in Disney World

Fudge Mudslide Sundae

But why order only one sundae when you can get TWO?! We also felt compelled to get the Snickers Sundae as well! Now it’s a PARTY!

FIRST LOOK! Here’s What’s Different About Beaches and Cream in Disney World

Snickers Sundae

We definitely had to save some room for these sundaes — we know we’re not to only ones who get most of our food wrapped to-go so we can focus on more important matters such as ICE CREAM! But Beaches and Cream is truly the best of both worlds and we have to enjoy a meal AND dessert each time we come!

Catch up on Disney’s decision to temporarily suspend the Disney Dining Plan here!

Payment

Our bill arrived in a disposable paper envelope which we’ve seen at other restaurants that have recently reopened at Disney World.

FIRST LOOK! Here’s What’s Different About Beaches and Cream in Disney World

Check Holder

And for those of you with Tables in Wonderland, it is still being accepted at Beaches and Cream!

Overall Impressions

Anyone with a love of the oldies but goodies can find a good time happening at Beaches and Cream — ESPECIALLY if you have a sweet tooth! We were so happy to get to enjoy this special place again and even though we’ll have to wait a little longer to rock out to our favorite records, we’ll definitely be back for more classic eats and sweets!

NEWS: Health and Safety Measures Revealed for the Reopening of Tokyo Disneyland

A reopening date has been announced for Tokyo Disney Resort! Both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea will begin a phased reopening on July 1st.

NEWS: Health and Safety Measures Revealed for the Reopening of Tokyo Disneyland

Tokyo Disneyland

The announcement for the reopening of Tokyo Disneyland followed the news that Disneyland Paris will welcome guests once again starting July 15th. And, as is the case with Disneyland Paris, we also have information about health protocols that will be implemented when Tokyo Disney Resort reopens in order to promote the safety of guests and cast members.

While you can explore the full list of measures on the Tokyo Disney Resort website, we’ll take a look at some of the protocols here, noting that Tokyo Disney Resort shares the following statement:

We will be deliberate in our operations, thoroughly implementing health and safety measures such as controlled capacity through limits on attendance, limited visitors in attractions, shops, restaurants, and other facilities, regular cleaning and sanitization, proactively requesting guests to maintain social distancing, among other things. “

Limited Capacity

Tokyo Disneyland will be reducing capacity in both parks as well as in attractions, entertainment, shops and restaurants upon the July 1st reopening and “until further notice.”

NEWS: Health and Safety Measures Revealed for the Reopening of Tokyo Disneyland

Soaring: Fantastic Flight

Of course, capacity limitations will begin with ticket sales, with tickets available to guests starting at 3PM on June 25th (available via the Tokyo Disney Resort Online Reservations & Tickets website). Also “until further notice,” only guests who have bought fixed date tickets will be able to enter the parks. (Tickets will be available to purchase up to approximately a month ahead of time.)

Guests will be able to choose from among three types of tickets: a 1-Day passport (with an entry time of 8AM), a Fixed Date Time Passport starting at 11AM, or a Fixed Date Time Passport stating at 2PM.

NEWS: Health and Safety Measures Revealed for the Reopening of Tokyo Disneyland

Tokyo DisneySea

And when it’s time to visit, guests will notice enhanced measures as well.

In the Parks

New health protocols will begin upon entering the parks, as guests will undergo temperature screening upon entrance to the parks, and will also be required to wear masks.

NEWS: Health and Safety Measures Revealed for the Reopening of Tokyo Disneyland

Popsicle at Tokyo DisneySea

Hand sanitizer will be spotted in several locations throughout the park, including attractions, shops, restaurants, restrooms and other locations.

Guests will also see markings to designate a safe distance in places around the park including — but not limited to — attraction queues. Speaking of queues, Single Rider and FASTPASS will both be suspended until further notice, and guests will also note hand sanitizers at attraction exits.

NEWS: Health and Safety Measures Revealed for the Reopening of Tokyo Disneyland

Soaring: Fantastic Flight Queue

As we have experienced in Walt Disney World as select Resort hotels have started reopening as of yesterday, beloved Disney Characters will still be part of the park experience! Physical distancing, however, will be incorporated, as character greetings that include direct contact with guests will be suspended.

NEWS: Health and Safety Measures Revealed for the Reopening of Tokyo Disneyland

Additionally, entertainment which encourages large group gathering will be impacted, with productions including Disney Light the Night fireworks, the Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade Dreamlights, and various shows suspended for the time being.

Tokyo Disney Electrical Parade

Restaurants and shops will incorporate additional measures, too, of course, including increased sanitation and the encouraged use of cashless payment, among others.

Again, you can find the list of measures and operational updates with a visit to the Tokyo Disney Resort website. But this gives you an idea of how Disney is taking a similar approach to Disney Parks and destinations worldwide in order to promote safety. And we have been covering the reopening of Walt Disney World Resort, which has reopened select Resort hotels to guests as of yesterday. To find out more about our experiences — and to catch up on the latest about the reopening of the Disney destinations — you can visit any of the links below.

But theme park reporter Scott Gustin is stating Disney has held back some spots and more reservations and will be released when Disney World’s Annual Passholders have access to the Disney Park Pass system on June 26th.
