News: Monorail Transportation Will NOT Be Available for EPCOT When Disney World Reopens

We’ve got another BIG transportation update for ya, and this one’s a bit of a doozy!

News: Monorail Transportation Will NOT Be Available for EPCOT When Disney World Reopens

Magic Kingdom

Moments ago, we told you Disney Skyliner would be loading only one party per gondola and that Disney World’s parking lot trams would be unavailable when the parks reopen.

And now, we’ve just learned while Magic Kingdom’s monorail service to and from the Transportation and Ticket Center has already resumed, monorail transportation to EPCOT will not be available until further notice. Disney World’s website reflects this recent update:

Keep in mind Disney World’s bus transportation has resumed at this time but is currently running between Disney Springs and the resort hotels only. Once the parks reopen, bus transportation between the resort hotels and Disney World theme parks will be provided to guests. Character Experiences at Reopened Magic Kingdom & Disney’s Animal Kingdom character experiences

Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom parks are reopening this coming Saturday. Things won’t be exactly as they were before the parks closed, but there will still be some character experiences! Good Morning America received an exclusive interview with Disney, and here is what they shared.

Magic Kingdom Character Experiences:

  • Mickey and Friends Cavalcade – Mickey and friends will travel the park’s parade route throughout the day. Guests will be invited to “get their ears on” and with Mickey.
  • The Royal Princess Processional – Several times throughout the day the Disney princesses (Cinderella, Tiana, Belle, Jasmine, Snow White, and Rapunzel) will travel on a float through the streets of the Magic Kingdom following Princess Merida leading the way on her horse Angus.
  • Fantasyland Friends – Gaston rides his horse followed by Winnie the Pooh, Mary Poppins, Aladdin, Wendy and Peter Pan.
  • Winnie the Pooh Characters – you may see Piglet, Eeyore, and Rabbit onboard the trolley
  • A Goofy Cavalcade – Goofy, Max, Clarabelle, Panchito, and Jose Carioca travel the streets of Magic Kingdom
  • Tinker Bell – Our favorite fairy will ride upon her treasure chest float
  • Cinderella’s Evil Stepsisters – These sisters may be spotted on the balcony of Cinderella Castle.
  • Country Bears – Guests can see these classic bears on the balcony in Frontierland. Shaker & Wendell and then Big Al & LiverLips.
  • Captain Jack Sparrow – The worst pirate we’ve ever heard of will appear on a small stage in Adventureland.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Character Experiences:

  • Discovery River Character Cruise – Get a look at Timon and Rafiki or Pocahontas with Meeko sailing on the park’s waterways.
  • Mickey and Friends Flotilla – Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto float along the waterways.
  • Donald’s Dino Boat Bash! – Donald Duck, Launchpad McQuack, and Daisy Duck or  Chip n Dale with Goofy travel on their boats from Dinoland USA to Discovery River.
  • Discovery Island Drummers – The group will perform for guests as they travel along Discovery River.

Things may be different at the parks when they reopen, but there will still be magic! Will you be visiting the parks soon?

ALL the Characters You Can Expect to See in a Reopened Disney World — And WHERE to Find Them!

Yesterday we had our first experience watching Disney World’s new Character Cavalcades roll by at Magic Kingdom!

ALL the Characters You Can Expect to See in a Reopened Disney World — And WHERE to Find Them!

Aladdin and Mary Poppins!

Instead of character greetings, parades, and fireworks shows (which have been temporarily put on hold), guests can enjoy these smaller processionals which are featured randomly throughout the day. That way, folks will still have the opportunity to interact and snap of few pics of their favorite Disney friends — but from afar!

And while Disney World has previously announced the names of a few of their new Character Cavalcades and places you can spot them, they’ve just shared even more information about these new entertainment offerings including where you’ll be able to catch them!

It’s Tigger!

Keep in mind Disney World’s new Character Cavalcades aren’t scheduled and you won’t find times for them listed like you would for Disney World’s parades, shows, or nighttime spectaculars. Now let’s get into some new juicy DEETS!

Magic Kingdom

According to Disney, “The Royal Princess Processional” will be offered “several times daily,” and will include favorite Disney princesses throughout the streets of Magic Kingdom. Princess Merida will lead the way on her trusty steed Angus, followed closely by a gazebo float and crystal castle carrying Cinderella, Tiana, Belle, Jasmine, Snow White, Rapunzel, and others.

Crystal Princess Float is Back

The “Mickey and Friends Cavalcade” will feature Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and their pals daily. Yesterday it was Pluto, Donald, and Daisy, but its possible this might change depending on the day. Plus some of the characters had on their 90th-anniversary celebration costumes for the special occasion!

We also wanted to mention that we spotted Rabbit, Piglet, and Tigger, and a few others yesterday. So you never know when more unexpected friends will show up!

We spotted Merida and Angus along with the rest of the Royal Princess Processional yesterday! Click here to see it!

Mickey and Friends

And here’s a brand new character experience we just learned about! Cinderella’s Evil Stepsisters will be perched on the balcony of Cinderella Castle in Fantasyland from time to time!

Cinderella Castle

You’ll be able to interact with Anastasia and Drizella while staying at a safe distance!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Previously Disney told us to be on the lookout for characters cruising the waterways of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but now we know exactly who we can expect to see AND where they’ll be roaming! For “Donald’s Dino Boat Bash” Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, and Launchpad McQuack will wave to guests from their party boat as it sails from Dino Land U.S.A. to Discovery River. We also saw Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto yesterday.

The “Discovery River Character Cruise” will also occur throughout the day, and guests will be able to see either The Lion King’s Timon and Rafiki or Pocahontas with Meeko cruise Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s waterways.

Timon and Rafiki

Disney also mentioned the “Discovery Island Drummers” will be a band of high-energy percussionists and will entertain guests on the shore with an energetic beat from aboard their boat.

Epcot

When Epcot reopens July 15th, the new “Mickey and Friends World Tour” will be kicking off! Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, and Goofy will be roaming the World Showcase at random!

Flower and Garden Festival

Queen Anna and Elsa will also be venturing around the World Showcase, journeying from country to country in the “Frozen Promenade.”

Looks like we’ll be having a blast visiting the Taste of EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival’s food booths while watching some of our favorite characters too!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Out of all the parks, Disney World just released the newest details about Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It looks like Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be offering up lots of adventures and says, “guests are likely to come across some familiar faces as they explore Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu.”

Heroes of the Resistance, including Rey, Chewbacca, and Vi Moradi, will be out on platforms above the garage in Black Spire Station or can be seen surveying activity around the spaceport where the Millennium Falcon has landed.

Meanwhile, a contingent of First Order Stormtroopers will join Kylo Ren in patrolling the landing platform at Docking Bay 9 beneath their TIE Echelon assault vehicle!

Some of the biggest stars from Pixar Animation Studios’ films will make their way down Hollywood Boulevard for the “Pixar Pals Motorcade.” This Character Cavalcade will include The Incredibles, Toy Story pals, and more.
