Disney World’s Parking Trams Will Be Unavailable When Theme Parks Reopen This Weekend

With Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom set to reopen to the general public this Saturday, July 11th, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT following next week on July 15th, we’ve been closely monitoring all the official statements Disney World has released about which transportation services will be available to guests.

Magic Kingdom

Previously, we confirmed that monorail and ferryboat service to and from the Transportation and Ticket Center to Magic Kingdom will resume earlier than originally projected and in time for the Annual Passholder previews scheduled for July 9th and 10th. Disney World Annual Passholders, however, will be required to provide their own transportation to the parking lots and parking lot tram service will not be running.

Now we’ve just received confirmation from Disney that parking lots trams will not be operating at any of Walt Disney World’s theme parks when the parks begin reopening to the general public on July 11th. Guests will be required to walk from their cars to the front entrance of the parks instead.

It’s unclear when parking lot tram service will resume; Disney World is only stating “parking lot trams will not be available at this time.” Meanwhile, Disney has also confirmed that the theme park parking lots will offer a “cashless payment” option.

Things are changing constantly now that Disney World’s grand reopening is imminent, so we’ll keep on eye out for any further announcements regarding when guests can expect parking lot tram service to resume. With the limited capacity measures in place, there will likely be fewer vehicles and it won’t be such a long trek to the gates. We’ll keep you updated on our experiences parking and visiting the parks as the phased reopening continues!

See what it’s like to ride the monorail in a newly reopened Disney World here!

Are you surprised by Disney World’s decision to postpone parking lot tram service? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Rumor: 2020 Disney World Ticket Sales Begin Tomorrow

Rumor: 2020 Disney World Ticket Sales Begin Tomorrow Walt Disney World re-opening plans

There is a rumor going around that 2020 Disney World ticket sales will begin tomorrow, July 9!

Some guests are reporting that they have received an email from Disney stating that Disney World‘s 2020 theme park tickets will resume sales tomorrow.

Disney paused ticket sales for this year when the parks closed earlier this year. They originally said 2020 sales would resume “later this summer” but gave no specific date.

2021 package reservations and ticket sales opened last month for dates through September 2021. Guests wanting or needing to purchase tickets for 2020 have been anxiously waiting for Disney to announce when sales would resume.

We don’t have official confirmation from Disney about this rumor but we will continue to monitor and watch for an announcement. Stay tuned!

#CancelHamilton Trends After ‘Hamilton’ Debuts on Disney+

#CancelHamilton Trends After ‘Hamilton’ Debuts on Disney+

#CancelHamilton Trends After ‘Hamilton‘ Debuts on Disney+. Hamilton is an instantly iconic musical released in 2015 that details the life of Alexander Hamilton in two acts, along with how various historical characters influenced his life such as Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette, Aaron Burr, John Laurens, Hercules Mulligan, Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton, Angelica Schuyler, Peggy Schuyler, Philip Hamilton, and former presidents George Washington, James Madison, and Thomas Jefferson. There is much more to the story, but a key element missing from the musical has first time viewers upset over the “glorification” of the founding father who was known to oversee the trade and sale of slaves for his in-laws.

Recent social justice movements have sparked the question, “Why are we overlooking the fact that Hamilton was a slave trader?” feeling that the show glorifies the founding fathers without sharing the darker aspects of their lives. The hashtag, #CancelHamilton, was trending after the movie version of the musical was released on Disney+, reaching a broader audience, and even caught the attention of the musical’s creator, Lin Manuel-Miranda.

Miranda shared the tweet of a concerned viewer and wrote: “Appreciate you so much, @brokeymcpoverty. All the criticisms are valid. The sheer tonnage of complexities & failings of these people I couldn’t get. Or wrestled with but cut. I took 6 years and fit as much as I could in a 2.5 hour musical. Did my best. It’s all fair game.”

Lin’s answer was classy and evident that he feels there was much more to Hamilton than the show could ever represent, but the time restraint needed to create a successful show left many stories untold. Luckily, for someone who is interested in learning more about Alexander Hamilton there is plenty of research and records to give insight into the life and legacy of the founding father.

You can stream Hamilton anytime on Disney+.
