Since Disney World will start to re-open this week beginning with Annual Passholder Previews, Disney Transportation will also start going back into operation.

While Disney Buses already opened up again on June 22nd with new health and safety modifications, other transportations options will be following starting July 7th. Although the Skyliner will be opening again July 15th, the Monorails are slated to be one of the first Disney Transportation systems to welcome guests back again.

Yep, Disney World’s most iconic transportation option has been spotted testing again on property while we’ve visited, and we’ve reported new alterations being made inside the cars. As a distancing protocol, barriers have been placed inside the Monorail to aid in social distancing.

And, yesterday, we spotted additional measures at the Monorail loading areas at Disney’s Contemporary Resort!

It looks like workers are installing more barriers in the monorail waiting and exiting areas, isolating guests from one another when they’re not able to socially distance at the recommended 6 foot guideline.

These types of plexiglass “walls” are being used at many locations where distancing is difficult, and we may see them in other queue lines as well.

NEWS! An Update to the Florida Alcohol Ban Allows Select Locations to Re-Open in Disney World!

Disney World restaurants have started to re-open at the Disney Resorts and Disney Springs. When the parks open up again next week, multiple quick-service and table-service locations will be available for guests to visit as well.

Bitter Barkeep

At this time, Advance Dining Reservations in the parks are only available to guests who have had select reservations canceled due to the closures. However, since Florida has been changing its health and safety guidelines to stay up-to-date with the unfolding situation, Disney restaurants have also had to make a few changes to follow these orders.

Previously, the Florida government issued an order where bars that made 50% of their gross revenue from the sale of alcohol were forced to close. However, that order has now been amended — to the benefit of several Disney World locations.

According to the new statement issued on July 1st, “Vendors licensed to sell alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises, and also licensed to offer food service, may continue to operate as restaurants.” This means that the restaurants that are licensed to sell both alcohol and food are able to operate with an indoor capacity limited to 50% with social distancing measures in place.

Oga’s Cantina

This also affects Oga’s Cantina in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Originally slated to continue its closure when the park reopened on July 15th, this new order gives Oga’s Cantina the opportunity to welcome guests again since it sells both food and alcohol.

Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar has also re-opened to everyone in Disney Springs following its previous closure after only 24 hours of business.

New Disney Magnet Sets Are Sure to Attract Some Fans

Cute Disney magnets are a lot like cute Disney coffee mugs – I have way too many, and I am always tempted to pick up a few more. These new magnet sets we spotted at World of Disney at Disney Springs are full of color. There’s a set for “it’s a small world”, colorful metallic Mickey Mouse magnets, classic Mickey and Friends, and a particularly adorable set featuring kitchen utensils with Disney styling.

The kitchen utensils set includes five magnets: a set of Mad Tea Party teacups, an oven mitt with a castle motif, a castle shaped spatula, Mickey Mouse rolling pin, and a tiki totem butter knife. Each set of magnets is $12.99. It does not appear that these sets are available on shopDisney online.

Are any of these magnets going to be stuck in your kitchen soon?

Making Your Disney World Plans? Here’s Something You Need to Know About Disney Park Pass Availability!

When the Disney World parks reopen later this month, guests will need to make a reservation in order to enter.

Making Your Disney World Plans? Here’s Something You Need to Know About Disney Park Pass Availability!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios entrance

This will be managed using the new Disney Park Pass reservation system, which allows guests to select a reservation for one theme park per day. There is a set amount of availability each day for Disney Resort guests, guests with regular theme park tickets, and Annual Passholders.

And given the limited ability for each group of guests, there is a chance that you might not end up with your first choice. But, if that’s the case, don’t give up — we’ve noticed that availability has popped up for dates which were previously listed as full!

For example, here’s a screenshot of the July availability for Disney Resort guests as of a few days ago. When this screenshot was taken some parks had already reached capacity on July 17th.

But, as of this morning, there is availability at all four parks for Disney Resort guests on July 17th.

So, if you find yourself unable to secure a reservation for your first choice of park, be sure to keep an eye on the Disney Park Pass calendar since we’ve seen availability pop up for days that were previously full!

Disney World begins refunding payments from Annual Passholder computer glitch

Great news! Disney has started issuing refunds for those Monthly Payment Annual Passholders who were accidentally charged several months’ worth of payments.

Just a few days ago Disney World Annual Passholders were unexpectedly charged several months’ worth of payments at once. I myself was charged for 2 months worth of payments and others were charged up to 4 months worth of payments. You can imagine the outrage and frustration.

Disney released a statement stating it was a computer glitch and they were working at reversing the charges and issuing refunds.

I awoke this morning with the charge that was on hold on my Disney Visa credit card magically gone!

I am glad the issue is being resolved now we can focus on the reopening of Walt Disney World next week!
