Disneyland Paris to Begin Phased Reopening Beginning July 15

At Disneyland Paris, we have been celebrating our Disney Parks family from around the world. From our colleagues at Shanghai Disney Resort and Hong Kong Disneyland who have reopened their gates, to Walt Disney World and Disneyland who announced their plans to reopen next month – we are inspired by their resilience and proud of what they’ve accomplished to once again welcome guests back to experience the magic of our resorts.

As President of Disneyland Paris, I’ve been fortunate to work alongside our team of dedicated cast members who have demonstrated tremendous commitment to preserving the magic for our guests and fans during our unprecedented closure. The last several months have tested us and our community – both personally and professionally – but together we have persevered with optimism and determination. We are grateful for the resilience of our cast members and local community, the enthusiasm of our guests and fans, and the positive momentum of the many reopenings in the tourism industry throughout Europe. We’ve been so touched by our guests around the world who’ve found creative ways to maintain their connection to Disneyland Paris from home.

Now, as our community begins to recover, I’m thrilled to share that our iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle will once again welcome guests to its towering spires and sprawling vistas when the resort begins its phased reopening on July 15. Since its temporary closure in March of this year, guests of all ages have been eagerly awaiting the reopening of our premiere European destination. Come July 15, Disneyland Paris will begin a phased reopening with visitors able to return to Disneyland Park, Walt Disney Studios Park, Disney’s Newport Bay Club hotel, and Disney Village. We look forward to the return of our cast members and reopening our gates so that our guests may once again enjoy our resort.

As we approach this day, we continue to prioritize the health and safety of our cast members and guests. In line with French government and health authorities’ recommendations, the phased reopening of Disneyland Paris will present a deliberate approach with enhanced health and safety measures tailored to our specific environment. This will include limits on attendance and require advanced ticketing and reservations to accommodate controlled guest density that aligns with government guidance on physical distancing.

We’ve been looking forward to the day we are all able to return to Disneyland Paris, and upon reopening, guests will be able to experience the guest service we are known for, our iconic attractions and entertainment, heart-warming new character moments, and even a few surprises along the way. As we are taking a phased approach, some experiences will change and others will return at a later date, but the magic that our cast is world renowned for will remain. We know it will take all of us working together, both cast members and guests, in this shared responsibility to promote a healthy and safe environment. More information on the enhanced health and safety measures are available on www.disneylandparis.com

Over the next few weeks, our teams will be taking steps to prepare Disneyland Paris for a successful reopening, from visible changes to accommodate physical distancing, to new training for all of our cast members. We know that reopening is just the beginning, and we will continually adjust our plans as appropriate in this evolving situation with input from safety and health authorities.

As we reflect on the last several months, the magic of being able to enjoy a Disney experience means so much more. I’m very much looking forward to the day when our guests and cast members can celebrate being together again. Until then, stay safe, keep dreaming, and see you soon at Disneyland Paris! After all, there is no magic without YOU!

The Bourne Stuntacular: A Must-See at Universal Orlando

Stage shows at theme parks can be hit or miss. Certainly, we’ve all suffered through a show that made us wish for those minutes of our lives back again. We’ve also seen some shows that wow us and make us want to see it again on our next trip. Thankfully, The Bourne Stuntacular at Universal Orlando is the latter.

Located in the Hollywood section of Universal Studios Florida, and thankfully in an air-conditioned venue, the show runs 26 minutes at various times throughout the day. For the least-crowded experience, aim for the first couple of shows of the day.

The Bourne Stuntacular: A Must-See at Universal Orlando

The show is a combination of live actors, elaborate props, special effects, and music to truly put you into a movie from the series starring Jason Bourne, a daring international operative. What really provides wow factor is the 3,600+ square foot digital background screen. It really does help you feel like you are jet setting around the world with Bourne.

SPOILER:For example, during one fight scene, Bourne is chased into a prop built to look like two-story tower, which is rolled onto the center of the stage. As Bourne climbs out of the tower, the entire prop starts rotating and rising toward the ceiling, simulating a camera angle that’s also rotating and dropping. And while the building is rotating, the scenery on the screen behind the prop is also rotating. It looks simply amazing to see it live. END SPOILER.

Although the plot is not cinematic in its depth–the plot really just serves to move you from one amazing scene to the next–you’ll be so wowed by the effects that you won’t mind that the bad guys can’t hit an easy-to-spot target like our hero. As long as you’re willing to bring some good ol’ Hollywood suspension of disbelief, you’ll have a wonderful time and will want to see it again.

We rate this at 4 1/2 stars–a must-see, especially for fans of the Bourne series of movies. It’s one of the best shows in Orlando.

The Festival of The Lion King and Turtle Talk with Crush Not Among Attractions Currently Reopening at Walt Disney World

The Festival of The Lion King and Turtle Talk with Crush Not Among Attractions Currently Reopening at Walt Disney World Festival of the Lion King

The excitement surrounding Walt Disney World’s reopening is palpable. Passholders and out-of-state vacationers alike have a lot of questions about what the experience will be like with new regulations and procedures. One major question has just been answered: when Epcot and Animal Kingdom reopen, on July 15th and 11th respectively, there will be notable exceptions in the attraction lineup.

The Festival of The Lion King is a fan favorite at Animal Kingdom. The colorful celebration brings characters with life with all the flair of their African roots and it is not to be missed on any trip to the park! However, this can’t be helped for any travelers coming for the reopening as the show will not be running at that time.

Epcot will also be missing a feature of entertainment as Turtle Talk with Crush will be closed until further notice. The reason for the closures is simply that these types of attractions make physical distancing nearly impossible. In other areas of the parks barriers and signage may suffice, but crowds pumped into a single room together would violate guidelines that have been handed down.

Walt Disney World has continued to communicate plans for new procedures over the past few months. Aside from distancing and masks, we can also expect to see additional sanitization taking place, more emphasis placed on mobile ordering in restaurants, as well as parades, fireworks, character experiences, and playgrounds temporarily halting operations.

Hopefully, we will not have to wait long for our favorite experiences to reopen, but in the meantime, it brings much joy to see Walt Disney World resuming operations in any capacity!

Not Having ANY Luck Making Disney World Park Pass Reservations? You’re Not the Only One!

Disney World’s new Park Pass Reservation System was set to go live at 7AM ET this morning and should now be open to guests with existing reservations.

Not Having ANY Luck Making Disney World Park Pass Reservations? You’re Not the Only One!

Magic Kingdom

Today, ONLY guests with existing tickets and hotel reservations can make a reservation. Annual Passholders WITHOUT a resort stay can make reservations starting June 26th. Then on June 28th, existing ticket holders can make reservations. But, this morning is off to a VERY bumpy start, people.

The Park Pass System is SUPER-glitchy this morning, leaving a lot of folks waiting while the Seven Dwarfs are “working on it!”

We had multiple team members trying to access the Park Pass System right at 7AM, and all of them were and are still expiring technical difficulties with the site. We keep seeing Stitch “eating” a lot of webpages this morning!
