And we want to give you the scoop now because the Annual Passholder Summer and Early Fall Room Offer is currently available at select Disney Resort hotels for stays most nights starting today, July 9th!

Here are the details:

The Annual Passholder Summer and Early Fall Room Offer is available for stays most nights July 9 through September 30, 2020, and this promotion includes savings of up to 40% (!!) for dates in September!

Advance reservations are required to take advantage of this offer. You can book now through September 30th for a minimum stay of 1 night and a maximum of 14 nights.

Great news for Disney World Annual Passholders! Annual Passholders can now book additional days in Disney’s Park Pass System!

According to the Disney World Annual Passholder Page:

Annual Passholders staying at select Disney Resort or other select hotels with valid theme park admission are eligible to make theme park reservations for each day of their stay(s), and now in addition, all Annual Passholders are eligible to make theme park reservations for up to 3 days at a time on a rolling basis. Once you use a theme park reservation, you can make another reservation for a future date.

In case you missed the news Disney World also released a special Room Only offer for Disney World Annual Passholders as well.

We’re live from Disney’s Animal Kingdom for the first time since the closures for an Annual Passholder preview.

We have already checked out Magic Kingdom, and now we’re ready to explore ALL the changes in Animal Kingdom.

We will be updating this post throughout the WEEK, so be sure to check back. And if you have any questions about the changes and the new procedures, please let us know! We will do our best to get you the answers you need.

Do note: This is just a preview, so things could change for the grand reopening of Animal Kingdom on the 11th.

Parking

Passholders were permitted to head into Animal Kingdom parking at 7:30AM for the preview. Attendants were parking cars in every other space so that guests can physical distance as they get out.

Bag and Temperature Checks

Temperature checks are done with handheld infrared thermometers in large white tents. Remember, these checks are administered by AdventHealth professionals.

Then it’s onto bag check. The new process here has you keeping all items in your bags and carrying them through the detectors.

If your bags trigger the sensor, you may be subject to a no-touch bag search.

Health Measures

There is signage regularly placed to remind guests to physical distance from one another.

The Disney trash cans even had some health reminders.

All around the park, we noticed physical distancing and directional stickers on the ground,

Crowds and Wait Times

Right at the start of the day, Avatar Flight of Passage was registering a five-minute wait. We’ll definitely be keeping an eye on this wait time as more guests arrive at the park.

Disney World is reopening this week, and that means that some guests are ready to plan their trips to the parks.

During the historic Disney World closure, new ticket sales and hotel reservations were indefinitely suspended so that Disney could accommodate guests with existing reservations. New vacation packages for 2021 opened first and last night, Disney announced that 2020 purchases would be available TODAY. It’s official! 2020 Disney World tickets and hotel reservations are available NOW! 

Currently, the only ticket option available is Standard Theme Park admission. We tried to select the option to purchase a new Annual Pass and were directed to the Experience Update page. One thing to note — there is no Park Hopper add-on option for 2020 tickets (you CAN add Park Hopper in 2021!).

In fact, the only add-on option is for the Memory Maker service. As of now, you’ll have to wait until 2021 if you want tickets with Park Hopper, Park Hopper Plus, or the Water Park and Sports option. Keep in mind that you should take a look at Disney Park Pass availability prior to booking — even if you’re looking at a 2021 trip.

Resorts with availability for 2020 have been listed this morning too! One thing to note is that the hotels with unannounced reopenings do NOT have any 2020 OR 2021 availability at this time.

We didn’t encounter any website issues this morning, but Disney did mention the use of virtual waiting rooms and rolling release times so let us know if you have any trouble! Stay tuned to DFB in the coming week for all the HUGE reopening updates.
