Yo Ho, Yo Ho, Disney Cruise Line’s Guava Glazed Ribs Recipe For Me!

Ahoy, Mateys! If you’ve ever been on Disney Cruise Line, you’ve probably enjoyed their Pirates IN the Caribbean Party!

On this special cruise night, guests get to dress up as pirates, view fireworks on deck, and enjoy a Caribbean-themed menu in the dining rooms — featuring seafood specialties and island fruit flavors.

One of the most popular island fruits, of course, is the guava! You can enjoy these Disney Cruise-inspired ribs at home with a special recipe released by the Disney Parks Blog: Guava Glazed Ribs!

Yo Ho, Yo Ho, Disney Cruise Line’s Guava Glazed Ribs Recipe For Me!

©Disney

While your ribs will need to marinate overnight, the preparation is pretty simple. Take a look at the recipe below (serves 4) and give it a try!

Ingredients:

Marinade:
1 onion (chopped)
3 tbsp cilantro (chopped)
3 tbsp oregano (chopped)
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp cracked black pepper
1/3 cup red wine vinegar
3 garlic cloves (crushed)
2 bay leaves
1/2 cup water
1 rack pork spareribs

Guava Barbecue Sauce:
1 cup guava puree
1 cup barbecue sauce
3/4 cup clear honey

For the Rib Marinade
Place all ingredients, except the water and bay leaves, in a blender. Blend until smooth, place into a mixing bowl and add the bay leaves and water. Pour the mixture over the ribs so both sides are covered and marinate for a minimum of 24 hours.

For the Guava Sauce
Mix ingredients together

For the Ribs
Transfer the ribs and marinade to a roasting pan, cover and place into a preheated oven at 270 degrees. Roast for 1.5 hours. Remove the ribs from the marinade and place onto another baking tray, brush with guava barbecue sauce and place back into the oven. Roast for 25 minutes at 340 degrees until cooked through and glazed. Remove and rest for 10 minutes, then carve.

This can also be done in a covered barbecue grill!

We Stumbled Across an ABANDONED-Looking Arcade in Disney World Today!

While we’ll have to wait a few more weeks for the Haunted Mansion to reopen at Magic Kingdom, we had an unusual encounter today that reminded us of the spooky attraction!

We Stumbled Across an ABANDONED-Looking Arcade in Disney World Today!

Ghost Arcade

We’re crossing over to the Other Side to see where all the ghouls and boys like to play at…The Ghost Arcade!

Even though Disney’s Beach Club Resort’s DVC rooms are available for guests, the property isn’t quite fully-functional just yet. Its neighboring hotel, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, is also still closed off for now.

But after enjoying some lunch at Beaches and Cream, we decided to check out some other spots at the property (at least, the bits and pieces where we were allowed to visit!) That’s when we noticed the arcade was open, but…

Ghost Arcade

…NOBODY’S AROUND! In fact, despite the arcade being unlocked and open for guests to roam, none of the machines are turned ON!

Ghost Arcade

Is your spine-tingling yet? Just like the Haunted Mansion, we don’t want you to be TOO AFRAID! And while we probably haven’t made you scream in terror quite yet, we just wanted to share this other-worldly experience with you!

We Stumbled Across an ABANDONED-Looking Arcade in Disney World Today!

Ghost Arcade

Maybe they just forgot to fire up the games today?! Either way, we wish somebody or someTHING would materialize in here so we wouldn’t feel so alone! Lol, we realize this isn’t the most earthshaking news to see a haunted abandoned, powered off, yet STILL accessible arcade but it was so strange to us we just had to share it with you!

Who knows — maybe this is what the 999 Happy Haunts have been up to with all of their free time! We could see Master Gracey workin’ on his free throw skills, just so long as he doesn’t mistake Madame Leota for a basketball!

After all, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is expected to take in the NBA’s Blazers, Kings, Pelicans, Spurs, Suns, and Wizards soon, so we don’t blame the Haunted Mansion specters for wanting to brush up their b-ball moves!

MLS Players Have Begun Arriving at Disney World’s Swan and Dolphin Resort—And They’re Showing Us What’s For Lunch!

Disney World is playing host to several sports leagues as their seasons are set to begin.

MLS Players Have Begun Arriving at Disney World’s Swan and Dolphin Resort—And They’re Showing Us What’s For Lunch!

Disney’s Swan and Dolphin Resort

One such league is Major League Soccer! Teams are set to resume their season at Walt Disney World in the coming weeks with the MLS is Back Tournament. Today, players, staff, and more began arriving at Disney’s Swan and Dolphin Resorts to get ready for the start of the season.

Tons of players and reporters have taken to Twitter to talk about their experience in their first days of arrival in Disney World. ESPN Reporter Stefano Fusaro noted that right at check-in he was administered a health test and will need to quarantine.

A common note from MLS players is the less-than-stellar food they’ve received. Player Omar Gonzalez posted a picture of the menu with lunch prices alongside a picture of the meal he was delivered. Prices on the menu range from $45-$75 dollars.

As a reminder, the Swan and Dolphin Hotels will remain closed to the general public through July, and guests with existing reservations will be relocated. Similarly, some Disney World resorts are currently closed to accommodate NBA teams and affiliates. We spotted some fencing being installed over at Disney’s Yacht Club today to keep guests and players separated.

The ‘X-Men’ Films Will Debut of Disney+ This Summer

The ‘X-Men’ Films Will Debut of Disney+ This Summer

The ‘X-Men’ Films Will Debut of Disney+ This Summer. As Disney navigates the acquisition of Fox Studios we have slowly begun to see more and more Fox titles trickle their way into the Disney+ film and television series rosters. Recently, the rebooted Fantastic Four film was secretly added to the streaming service which lead us to believe the X-Men films would shortly follow suit. Luckily, our hunch was correct and several X-Men titles will be making their way to Disney+ this summer!

Check out the Disney+ release schedule for the X-Men films:

  • X-Men (August 7, 2020)
  • The Wolverine (September 4, 2020)
  • X-Men: Days of Future Past (July 10, 2020)
  • X-Men: Apocalypse  (July 17, 2020)
  • The New Mutants (August 28, 2020)

It is unknown if other X-Men titles such as as X2, X-Men 3: The Last Stand, X-Men: First Class, and X-Men: Dark Phoenix will join Disney+ or possibly find a home on Hulu due to their MPAA ratings. Disney has already shared that titles such as Deadpool, Deadpool 2 and Logan will not be added to the Disney+ library due to violence, language, and/or sexual content.

Be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for all things Disney+ and Marvel!
