NEWS! Some Disney World Annual Passes Now Display Extended Expiration Dates

When Disney World temporarily closed in March, it raised A LOT of questions for Annual Passholders!

NEWS! Some Disney World Annual Passes Now Display Extended Expiration Dates

Walt Disney World Annual Passholder

Shortly after the theme parks’ temporary closure was updated to “until further notice,” Passholders who had paid in full were told their Disney World Annual Passes would be automatically extended for the number of days the parks remained closedWell, we’ve been getting concerned that those extensions still haven’t come, and we’re hoping to make Theme Park reservations soon. But there seems to be some Annual Pass movement today.

One Annual Passholder reached out to say that their expiration date had in fact been extended by the length of the closure. Here’s a screenshot, taken yesterday, of the original date for the extended Florida Resident Disney Weekday Select Annual Pass…

Original Annual Pass Expiration

…and here’s the updated date screenshot, taken today! That’s 117 days added to that Annual Pass.

NEWS! Some Disney World Annual Passes Now Display Extended Expiration Dates

Extended Annual Pass Expiration

As a reminder, Disney World will have been closed for 117 days when the parks reopen — from March 15th through July 11th. Annual Passes should be extended by the number of active days on your individual pass that were impacted by the closure.

At press time, none of the Annual Passholders on our team are seeing any changes to their original Annual Pass expiration dates yet.

Learn more about Disney World’s new Annual Passholder policies here!

Keep in mind — Disney World will only be extending Annual Passes for members that have already paid in full or haven’t chosen to waive their payments. If you are on a monthly payment plan and have opted out of paying for your membership while the parks have been closed, your Disney World Annual Pass will expire on its original date.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on the situation to see if Annual Pass extensions begin to roll out in full. Drop us a line @DisneyFoodBlog on instagram or twitter if you see movement on your pass expiration date so that we can let our readers know. If you have any questions regarding your Disney World Annual Pass, you should call V.I.PASSHOLDER Support at (407)939-7277.

Face Masks will be Required for Guests Visiting Disneyland

Face Masks will be Required for Guests Visiting Disneyland

With Disneyland‘s reopening coming up next month, Disney fans have been wondering what the health and safety requirements will be. Disney puts the health and safety of both Cast Members and guests as its number one priority.

A recent update shows that Disney is working hard to make sure that there are detailed protocols and procedures to protect the well being of all who will be at the parks. One of those includes all guests and Cast Members are required to wear face masks while at the Disneyland Resort.

You can read the health and safety statement from Disney below:

Enhanced Health and Safety Measures

“We recognize that the COVID-19 situation is constantly evolving, which is why our reopening approach is deliberately fluid and phased, and there are many factors that are helping us determine the timing of when various aspects of our business will reopen in a responsible way. In addition to following existing state and local guidelines, which continue to evolve, we currently are working with our unions to responsibly and thoughtfully implement new health and safety measures for Cast Members. These enhanced health and safety measures include:

  • Enhanced Protective Measures: We will require mandatory face coverings for both Cast Members and Guests, with the addition of hand-washing stations and physical barriers, where appropriate.
  • Physical Distancing: We will reduce theme park capacity to enable physical distancing and add appropriate signs to help Guests move responsibly throughout the property.
  • Temperature Checks: All Guests will undergo temperature screenings prior to entering the Downtown Disney District or the theme parks; in addition, health screenings and temperature checks will be required daily for Cast Members.
  • Limited-Contact Enhancements: We are recommending cashless transactions and we will reduce Cast Member and Guest interactions with helpful technology, including the expansion of Mobile Order in our Disneyland app, Apple Pay and more.
  • Enhanced Cleaning and Sanitation: We will build upon our existing standards of cleaning with heightened protocols.

While it may be a bit different from the last time you visited, we’ve come up with new ways to create magical moments together—and memories to treasure forever.”

Will you visit the Disneyland Resort with these enhanced health and safety measures?
