Select Walt Disney World Resort Area Hotels to Reopen in July

Following recent closures due to coronavirus, some of the Walt Disney World Resort area hotels are slated to reopen this July.

According to WDWMagic, Hilton Bonnet Creek, Waldorf Astoria, and the Four Seasons Resort Orlando are all currently taking reservations beginning July 1.

In addition the Walt Disney Swan and Dolphin Resort are now taking reservations for July 29.

All of these Walt Disney World Resort area hotels, though not official Walt Disney World Resorts, are actually on Walt Disney World property. In addition, these resorts also offer some of the same amenities (traditionally, when Walt Disney World actually offers them) that the official Disney hotels receive, like 60 day booking window for FastPass+ and Extra Magic Hours.

Walt Disney World Reaches Out to Annual Passholders with a Special Message

Recently, Annual Passholders received an e-mail message from Walt Disney World Resort with information regarding some of the changes that will be implemented — such as the new theme park reservation system — when the parks begin a phased reopening on July 11th.

And now, Annual Passholders have started to receive a new e-mail communication. This time, it’s a word of thanks… along with some Disney magic.

The message begins: “Soon it’ll be time to return to the enchantment. To laugh. To wish. To dream…”

Before that time begins, the email goes on to say that “we wanted to offer our most sincere thanks. For your patience. For your trust. For always keeping the magic in your hearts. And for being some of our most cherished fans.”

It’s noted, of course, that changes will be in place, recognizing that the experience of visiting the parks “will understandably be different” upon the return. But it also assures that “the magic will still be there.”

As we await further details on the new reservation system for Annual Passholders and ticket holders to enter the theme parks, as well as any new information for guests preparing to re-enter Walt Disney World when its phased reopening begins this summer, we will be sure to keep you posted. In the meantime, you can find all the latest information regarding the reopening of Disney Parks (which, as of yesterday, includes a proposed reopening date for Disneyland Resort) by visiting any of the links below.

Walt Disney World Hiring for Cultural Representative Program

When the coronavirus initially hit, Disney furloughed all of the Cast Members that worked at the Walt Disney World Resort, including the international Cast Members that worked in Epcot’s World Showcase, who were then able to potentially return home before all the quarantines officially hit. These international Cast Members helped to make World Showcase unique, as it allowed Guests to learn more about the countries that are represented from people who have first hand knowledge.

So, with the parks reopening, the questions came….would Cast Members from these countries be returning? According to some job listings, they will be!

Disney is currently looking for job applicants to apply for the Cultural Representative Program. According to the ad:

The Cultural Representative Program is a twelve-month work experience located at Walt Disney World® Resort, near Orlando, Florida. Participants have the opportunity to share the unique culture and customs of their country with Guests, while working different front line, guest facing roles. Participants must authentically represent one of the countries or regions we have recreated in look and feel at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Jobs are currently available for Norway, Germany, and Mexico. (The Mexico application is actually due by tomorrow, June 12.)

Right now, those who are representing Norway and Germany are slated to start between August and November 2020 and those who are representing Mexico are slated to start between January and June 2021.

One would expect that cultural representatives will soon be needed for the other countries and I would expect we may see additional job opportunities opening soon.
