New Picnic Punch now available at Starbucks in Disney Springs

New Picnic Punch now available at Starbucks in Disney Springs Starbucks Picnic Punch

If there’s one thing Starbucks knows how to do, it’s creating beautiful and tasty new drinks that everybody has to try (and Instagram!). Well, they’ve done it again! On our last trip to Disney Springs, we were lucky enough to try the colorful new Picnic Punch.

New Picnic Punch now available at Starbucks in Disney Springs

Picnic Punch starts off as a pineapple matcha drink and is topped with strawberry sweet cream cold foam. Wow, it’s pretty! It reminded us of a reversal of last year’s Millenial Falcon drink (a pink drink topped with matcha foam) and had that same level of refreshment. The initial flavor hit is strong with strawberry, which is sweet and fruity, then as the drink mixes, the tea flavor comes up more. The best part is definitely the cold foam where the taste of strawberry purée is clearest. But the whole beverage is refreshing and on the delicate side of Starbucks flavors.

New Picnic Punch now available at Starbucks in Disney Springs

It costs $7.40 before tax, so hopefully, you’ve been saving up some of those rewards from your morning fix. Whether you like coffee or not, this one is a great choice because it’s cool and light. However, if you really hate matcha or tea, steer clear. The matcha flavor gets strong towards the end.

The new Picnic Punch at @starbucks is super refreshing and a great beverage to try on your next trip to Disney Springs! It’s a pineapple matcha with strawberry purée cold foam. #disneysprings #waltdisneyworld #starbucks #disneyfood

From iced beverages to chicken wings, we’ve been tasting our way around new menu items at Disney Springs!

Review! We Tried the New Fried Fish Sandwich at Wine Bar George in Disney World!

Wine Bar George

And when we saw a new addition to the menu at Wine Bar George, we had to swing by to give it a try!

So, what’s the new addition?? Wine Bar George is now offering a Fried Fish Sandwich! Served on a brioche bun, this sandwich includes pickles, tomatoes, lettuce, and gribiche sauce. It also comes with a side of fries.

Review! We Tried the New Fried Fish Sandwich at Wine Bar George in Disney World!

Fried Fish Sandwich at Wine Bar George

We thought the fish itself was AMAZING! The breading is light and buttery and the fish is tender and flaky. Sliced, unripe tomatoes line the bottom of the sandwich while fresh grape tomatoes lie on top.

Review! We Tried the New Fried Fish Sandwich at Wine Bar George in Disney World!

The gribiche sauce was super tangy, and we would say it’s an acquired taste — it definitely added a lot of flavor to the sandwich! And the pickles paired well with the sauce! We did notice that the sandwich was really messy to eat.

Eating it can get a little messy…

The fries were also delicious! Generously salted and spiced, they were a filling addition to the meal. You can snag this sandwich for $16 at Wine Bar George in Disney Springs.

This Splash Mountain Merchandise Was FLYING Off the Shelves Today in Disney World!

Splash Mountain

But believe it or not, we spotted some Splash Mountain merch on display at World of Disney today — or DID WE???

While Splash Mountain merch has log-flumed out the door and is no longer available on Disney’s website, we couldn’t believe our eyes when we noticed this Br’er Rabbit Park Pal was just STILL chillin’ at Disney Springs this morning!

He kind of camouflaged in with the rest of the Park Pals, so somehow he’s slipped by unnoticed! They actually had several in stock!

Arendelle Aqua Punch is a Summer Treat at Disney Springs

Arendelle Aqua Punch is a Summer Treat at Disney Springs Arendelle Aqua Punch

Are you ready to head ”Into the Unknown”? If you don’t know already, we’re talking about a drink that would satisfy Queen Elsa herself: Arendelle Aqua Punch! This drink is available at The Daily Poutine at Disney Springs, so whether you are in the mood for some fries or just looking to cool down, this is a great time to stop over!

Arendelle Aqua Punch is a Summer Treat at Disney Springs

The beverage is an adults-only alcoholic cocktail, so don’t get your kids too excited about the pretty new Elsa drink (think Olaf’s ”When I’m older”). It’s filled with Coconut Rum, Peach Schnapps, Blue Curaçao, and fresh fruit juices. The taste is very light overall, almost like a flavored lemonade, and it is very fruity! It’s not overly sweet, nor does it taste heavily of alcohol. The abundance of ice makes it a great choice for cocktail-lovers who also want a reprieve from Orlando’s summer heat (”Some Things Never Change”). Olaf would approve.

Arendelle Aqua Punch is a Summer Treat at Disney Springs

The most fun part about this drink may just be the marble effect that it has. Though tricky to catch in photographs, the Arendelle Aqua Punch is shiny like a calming bottle and the color is bright blue, giving the impression that it mimics Elsa’s famous dress. This is definitely one for your Instagram account!

Try the Arendelle Aqua Punch over at The Daily Poutine in Disney Springs! It’s got coconut rum, blue curaçao, and fresh fruit juices, besides which it’s a beautiful color! #disneysprings #disneylife #waltdisneyworld #chipandco

A post shared by Chip and Co (@chipandco) on Jun 30, 2020 at 10:20am PDT

The drink costs $13 before tax and is a great icy treat for anyone over 21. Head on over to Disney Springs and enjoy responsibly!

Where Can You Get a Drink at Disney Springs During the Current Ban of On-Premise Alcohol?

On Friday June 26, 2020, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation declared that bars could not longer sell alcohol for on-premise consumption. You may have seen headlines that declare that Florida has banned the sale of alcohol – this is not true. The ban is on businesses whose revenue is comprised of 50% or more from the sale of alcohol.  For such establishments they can still operate, but all drinks must be to-go, or for the consumption off-premises.

So what does this mean for Disney Springs? It means practically every bar at Disney can still serve alcohol for consumption, on its premises, because the majority of bars at Disney Springs are part of a restaurant, whose main source of revenue is food. It also means that many are pivoting to focus on to-go beverages.

Where Can You Get a Drink at Disney Springs During the Current Ban of On-Premise Alcohol? Disney Springs Outdoor Bars Remain Open for To-Go Drinks

Where Can You Get a Drink at Disney Springs During the Current Ban of On-Premise Alcohol? Raglan Road To-Go Bar

Places like Raglan Road and Pizza Pointe at Enzo’s have amplified their to-go drinks presence, including Fruit and Wine Popsicles at Pizza Pointe. Homecomin’ Florida Kitchen recently opened an expanded outdoor dining and bar space, called Shine Bar + Social, which remains open and ready to serve both on-premise or to-go.

Other places like Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar – which had just reopened, have now closed. While I have not seen Jock Lindsey’s profit and loss statement, it would be easy to assume that alcohol is their primary revenue source. And, with the ban in place it may be more trouble than it is worth to have this venue open. Dockside Margaritas is also closed, as there is no food served here, and while to-go drinks could be an option, it may not be worth it.

All in all, not much is missing from the drinking and dining scene at Disney Springs even with the on-premise ban in place. If anything, there seems to be an increase in to-go drinks.

Four Seasons and Disney Springs Resort Area Hotel Guests Will Have Access to the Park Reservation System on June 22nd!

While we’ve been busy becoming masters of Disney World’s new reservation system (check out our tutorial here!), we’ve also been trying to figure out who will have access to park reservations when it goes live on June 22nd.

Four Seasons and Disney Springs Resort Area Hotel Guests Will Have Access to the Park Reservation System on June 22nd!

A Sight For Sore Eyes!

So far, we’ve been able to confirm guests staying at Disney’s Swan and Dolphin Resort (which is owned by Marriott) will have the same access as guests staying at Disney-owned hotels.

And now theme park reporter Carly Weisel has also found out guests who will be staying at one of the seven Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels (which are privately-owned) will ALSO have the same access to park reservations as Disney World guests!

That  following properties are eligible:

If you have booked a room at one of these resorts AND you have valid theme park admission, you’ll be able to make your Disney World park reservation starting on June 22nd. Thanks to Carly Weisel, we also know guests staying at Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World will qualify as well.

Keep in mind, many of these properties shut down around the same time as Disney World resorts and some have remained closed. Here are the Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels that are still closed and have yet to release their official reopening dates at this time:

Make sure you check with your resort regarding your upcoming stay and if you have any questions, shoot them out to us in the comments below! AMC Theatre in Disney Springs Reopening July 15

With the news of the Walt Disney World Resort making progress towards reopening, Disney fans are getting a feeling of some normalcy. The Disney Springs area was among in the first at the resort to begin a phased reopening. However, when Disney Springs reopened on May 27th, something was noticeably still closed. Not to worry, because we just got word that everyone’s favorite AMC Dine-In Theatre will be reopening very soon!

AMC Theatre in Disney Springs Reopening July 15 AMC Theatre in Disney Springs Reopening Soon

As the world gets used to a new kind of normal, AMC is also adapting to create a positive and safe experience for their guests to enjoy. AMC theatres have partnered with cleaning brand Clorox to ensure they have the best methods of keeping their space clean and sanitary. They have also implimented a new initiative that is named, AMC Safe & Clean. This initiative ensures that intense measures of cleanliness are being taken daily to ensure the health and safety of AMC staff and guests.

With implementing these new methods of health and safety, AMC in Disney Springs is ready to start showing plenty of new films and classic films we all know and love! They are more than excited to welcome their guests back just in time for the premier of Disney’s live action Mulan!

Also to help keep patrons safe, AMC will have capacity restrictions. This will be in order to keep up with social distancing efforts. Contactless ticketing methods will be encouraged. Mobile ordering for food and beverages at this dine-in location will be encouraged as well.

Starting July 15th, Disney Springs AMC Dine-In location will be in full operation with the aforementioned safety measures in place. By the end of July, AMC is expecting all of their locations to be reopened with the AMC Safe & Clean initiative. We can’t wait to head back and catch a movie with AMC!

This New Disney World Cookie Already Has Undergone a HUGE Change!

Earlier this week, we were truly shaken to our core when we found out The Polite Pig in Disney Springs was no longer selling the famous Gideon’s Bakehouse Cookie! THE HORROR!

This New Disney World Cookie Already Has Undergone a HUGE Change!

R.I.P. Gideon’s Cookies at The Polite Pig!

Of course, we later found out WHY, and also much to our relief, The Polite Pig began offering its own replacement: hence the Bourbon Chocolate Chip Cookie was born!

But ever since the new cookie debuted at The Polite Pig, the results have been a mixed bag. Some people thought its over-the-top chocolate-chip-to-cookie-ratio was similar to a Gideon’s Bakehouse Cookie!

This New Disney World Cookie Already Has Undergone a HUGE Change!

New Bourbon Chocolate Chip Cookie at The Polite Pig

Even though the recipe is completely different from Gideon’s (it has BOURBON in it, people!) the cookies still looked pretty similar! The Polite Pig has since changed their recipe, and they’ve now swapped the chocolate chips for chocolate rock candies instead!

This New Disney World Cookie Already Has Undergone a HUGE Change!

Bourbon on the Rocks Cookie

They’ve also, rather cleverly, changed the treat’s name to the Bourbon on the Rocks Cookie!

This New Disney World Cookie Already Has Undergone a HUGE Change!

Bourbon on the Rocks Cookie

As you can see, it now looks VERY different from a Gideon’s Bakehouse Cookie. Taste-wise it’s exactly the same Bourbon Chocolate Chip Cookie we tried earlier this week — minus the chocolate chips, of course!

This New Disney World Cookie Already Has Undergone a HUGE Change!

Bourbon on the Rocks Cookie

Our cookie was especially gooey and ate more like cookie dough. But it still had plenty of salt flakes sprinkled over the top to balance some of that sweetness. The Bourbon on the Rocks Cookie costs $5 and will be available all day long or until it sells out! We’ll be VERY interested in finding out what you guys think of them this time around!

Let us know if you’re looking forward to trying out the new Bourbon on the Rocks Cookie in the comments below!

We Hope Disney Does THIS In Their Restrooms When The Parks Reopen

Since theme parks have started to reopen, one of their highest priorities has been implementing stricter health and sanitation procedures.

We Hope Disney Does THIS In Their Restrooms When The Parks Reopen

Disney Springs Sign

Although Disney World and Disneyland haven’t welcomed guests back just yet (but will soon!!), Disney has still started to implement some of its heath and safety procedures in Disney Springs. On top of the temperature checks, social distancing measures, and face mask requirements, restrooms (yes, restrooms) have even switched things up, too.

However, during our time at Universal Orlando, we noticed that their bathroom regulations were well-thought-out for safety, convenience, and cleanliness for everyone visiting. And, before the Disney Parks reopen, they might need to take a few notes from Universal on how restroom facilities should operate.

Universal Orlando Safety Measures

Universal has REALLY been on top of their game with everything we have seen in the parks. Although there have been some bumps in the road (remember the Mobile Order chaos during the opening week?), Universal Orlando has done whatever it can to iron out the kinks and continue to provide the best experiences for guests.

We Hope Disney Does THIS In Their Restrooms When The Parks Reopen

Hogsmeade

From what we’ve seen, Universal’s temperature checks have been running smoothly. Hotel guests are given wristbands if they have already been screened to lessen the amount of time spent re-checking everyone. The sanitation measures are also well thought out with hand-sanitizer stations everywhere, attractions being wiped down after use, and more.

We Hope Disney Does THIS In Their Restrooms When The Parks Reopen

Temp Checks at Universal

We’ve also noted the attention to distancing with characters placed on stage or behind roped off areas, dots to stand on to watch shows, and distancing signs and stickers throughout the parks to keep everyone six feet apart at all times.

We Hope Disney Does THIS In Their Restrooms When The Parks Reopen

How Ya Doin’, Homer??

Universal Orlando Restrooms

But, while there have been consistent signs to remind everyone of the health and safety procedures in the parks, the bathrooms have also been managed extremely well. There are signs outside the restrooms pointing to the nearest available stops and signs inside the restrooms to reassure guests that facilities would be cleaned frequently. We also spotted a number of signs instructing guests to use every other sink to maintain distancing.

We Hope Disney Does THIS In Their Restrooms When The Parks Reopen

Restroom Signs at Universal

Universal even shuts restrooms down for a short period of time to do another round of heavy cleaning, just to make sure things are cleaned to their standards. Within the restrooms and stalls, there is still a lot of social distancing and space implemented so guests don’t have to feel worried about an overcrowded area during afternoon rushes to the restrooms.

We Hope Disney Does THIS In Their Restrooms When The Parks Reopen

Restrooms

The amount of time spent on something as simple as a restroom shows that Universal has been putting a LOT of thought and effort into their sanitation and custodial measures in the parks.

Disney Springs Safety Measures

Disney has also placed strict health and safety measures all around Disney Springs to make sure that Cast Members and guests are protected. On top of the temperature checks and hand-sanitizing stations, there are also new procedures in restaurants and stores (they’ve implemented Virtual Queues and QR menus to promote distancing and contactless protocols).

We Hope Disney Does THIS In Their Restrooms When The Parks Reopen

World of Disney Queue

Disney has continued to find ways to clean high-touch spaces and maintain cleanliness throughout different locations, all while allowing guests to still have great experiences during their time in the shopping and dining district.

Disney Springs Restrooms

However, opposed to the rest of Disney Springs, the restroom situation seems to pale in comparison to Universal’s methods. Disney Springs has SO many signs and markers around the area to clearly designate to guests what each sign means and what to do.

We Hope Disney Does THIS In Their Restrooms When The Parks Reopen

Pin Traders

But, the restrooms haven’t seen much change from what they were previously like before. While there are distancing markers outside most restrooms, there are no signs pointing out the restroom areas like Universal and no signs in the restrooms with detailed guidelines either.

We Hope Disney Does THIS In Their Restrooms When The Parks Reopen

Restrooms

The same towels dispensers with the pull-down towels and little turning knobs are still present as they had been previously (which is pretty high-touch, if you think about it). Air-blowing hand dryers are still available too, though it’s widely regarded that these sorts of driers actually spread more germs than they prevent. Keep in mind that this doesn’t mean Disney is cleaning any less! We’ve seen custodial teams in restrooms constantly to keep things sanitary.

We Hope Disney Does THIS In Their Restrooms When The Parks Reopen

Restroom

The lack of signage in Disney Springs restrooms is very contrary to the extensive information we usually see around the shopping and dining district, let alone at other parks.

Although there have been other interesting ideas that Disney could take from Universal’s reopening, the amount of signs and instructions for restrooms is especially something that Disney World should think of implementing. The additional signage likely does make guests feel reassured about the sanitation procedures around the parks.

We Hope Disney Does THIS In Their Restrooms When The Parks Reopen

Cast Member with required face mask

Disney tends to go above and beyond to help guests and keep them informed, and this would be another way to do so. Since there are so many changes happening in the parks, this extra bit of information and guidance would continue to help guests feel safe, like it seems to have done so far in Universal Orlando.

We Hope Disney Does THIS In Their Restrooms When The Parks Reopen

Disney Springs Restrooms

Of course, Disney could have this already installed in its parks (and we won’t know until they re-open in July). While updated signage in restrooms hasn’t been installed in Disney Springs just yet, it might be another update Disney should look into in the future!

What has your experience been like in re-open theme parks? Let us know in the comments below!
