More great news for Disney Springs! Jock Lindsey’s Hanger Bar reopened to guests on June 25, 2020. The Indiana Jones themed bar is always a fun time for visitors and they feature a fantastic drink menu. Look closely at the menu to find several drink and food items with names inspired by the famed explorer’s exploits in the films. The dockside bar is relaxing with its waterfront view. Their famous charcuterie pretzel, which is shown below, is also available again for guests to enjoy.

An aviation-themed lounge, Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar features unique cocktails and small plates at its prime location along Lake Buena Vista. Ardent fans of the “Indiana Jones” films may recognize Jock Lindsey as Indy’s frequent pilot. In the main room, guests can discover an expansive bar, aviation decor filling the room, vintage travel posters covering the walls and correspondence between Jock, Indy and their fellow adventurers on display. Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar is located at The Landing area at Disney Springs.

We’re Quackers For The New Donald Duck Harveys Collection

I am absolutely obsessed with Donald Duck, I honestly have Donald everything and he is one of my all-time favorite characters to DisneyBound. The first sneak peek revealed a print that features a very angry duck, which is honestly exactly how we love our feathered friend. There will be more prints, designs, and silhouettes to come, so be sure to follow along on Harvey’s Instagram as the release draws closer! I really hope we have something with Donald’s booty, I love the headband with his tail feathers!

Proposed Vacation Tax Credit

Proposed Vacation Tax Credit Vacation tax credit

An Arizona Senator, Martha McSally, is hoping to reignite the tourism industry for the year 2020. They’re proposing a vacation tax credit that encourages Americans to travel within the United States.

The proposed bill is called the American TRIP Act. The acronym TRIP stands for “Tax Rebate and Incentive Program.” If passed, the bill would grant vacation tax credits up to $4,000 per American adult, or $8,000 per married couple, plus $500 for each dependent child. The tax credit could be applied to travel expenses such as transportation, lodging, food and beverage, and entertainment that occur between December 31, 2019 and January 1, 2022. However, you would be required to travel at least 50 miles from your primary residence and stay within the U.S. and its territories in order to qualify.

Of course, this isn’t the only vacation tax credit idea that’s currently being evaluated by policy makers. A few weeks ago, President Trump discussed the “Explore America Tax Credit”, which offers a different incentive. The Explore America Tax Credit offers up to $4,000 per U.S. household for vacation expenses spent in the U.S. at hotels, theme parks, restaurants and other tourism-related businesses through the end of 2021. This proposed tax credit would cover up to 50% of a family’s total vacation expenses, but the maximum amount is $4,000.

We’re waiting to see what kind of tourism-related tax credit, if any, gets approved by the government. So far both ideas are still in the infant stages of being considered. It’ll be worth watching to see what happens next since giving these proposed ideas would help our economy, too.

Tony Baxter Will Be Back On The Splash Mountain Imagineering Team!

Tony Baxter Will Be Back On The Splash Mountain Imagineering Team! Tony Baxter

Tony Baxter is back at Splash Mountain!

The former Imagineer and Disney Legend will be back as a Creative Adviser in the team that will reimagine Splash Mountain to “The Princess and the Frog” theme at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World and we couldn’t be more excited!

Tony Baxter Will Be Back On The Splash Mountain Imagineering Team!

Tony Baxter was the one responsible for the design of Splash Mountain back in 1987 with a theme based on the 1946 classic “Song of the South.”

Did you know he actually came up with the idea in 1983 while he was stuck in traffic during rush hour?. I guess sometimes waiting in traffic is not that bad.

“The attraction will be one to be proud of” mentioned Tony. “I look forward to being a part of a new adventure in Disney magic and fun.”

Tony Baxter knows this attraction like no one else, so we are happy he is back on the project.

Tony Baxter Will Be Back On The Splash Mountain Imagineering Team! The Princess and the Frog

The redesign of Splash Mountain will be lead by Charita Carter, a Senior Creative Producer at Walt Disney Imagineering.

“Like Princess Tiana, i believe that courage and love are the key ingredients for wonderful adventures. I am delight to be a part of bringing this fun-filled experience to our guests” said Carter.

As of know, there’s no set date for the start of this redesign or when the project will be completed but we are sure Disney will be releasing more details soon.

We can’t wait for this new theme and join Tiana in a magical journey around the Bayou!
