Disneyland May Reduce Hours, Limit Parking Upon Reopening

Disneyland has a proposed reopening date — and the resort is going to look a little different if you’re planning to go soon.

To help promote social distancing and to adhere to governmental requirements, Disneyland will be limiting capacity through a new reservation system.

We have already shared that Disneyland has paused ticket sales, paused certain entertainment, and will require masks for guests Now, Disneyland has also proposed a few more potential changes.

One of the BIGGEST ways Disneyland is changing is that the resort will also limit operating hours, though we don’t know what, exactly, that will look like.

Other limits at Disneyland include those on parking, which reminds us a bit of what we have seen at Disney Springs in Walt Disney World since it reopened in Mid-May. It’s unknown what the parking situation at Disneyland will look like upon reopening but we will share all the details as they are released.

Pride Month Donut

Donut King, a big-time coffee and donut chain, supplies all Joffrey’s locations with their donuts, so you know they’re the REAL DEAL! For $4.99 we scored this massive yeast donut today topped with a beautiful rainbow of frosting!

The donut is plain while the frosting is vanilla so not a lot of complexity going on here. But the donut we got was nice and fresh! We thought it had a great texture and tasted like everything you could want out of a good donut DONE RIGHT!

While Disney has yet to offer up more details on what this entails, this is a similar situation to what we saw when Walt Disney World announced it planned to reopen its theme parks on July 11th.

Disney World temporarily paused new ticket sales and Disney Resort hotel reservations ahead of its reopening to focus on guests whose vacations had been postponed due to the theme parks’ extended closure, and it seems like Disneyland is following suit.

NEWS! Disneyland Announces That Certain Entertainment Will Be Suspended Upon Reopening

As of today, Disneyland has proposed a plan for reopening!

NEWS! Disneyland Announces That Certain Entertainment Will Be Suspended Upon Reopening

Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle

Several days ago, we reported that signs indicated that Disneyland might reopen in July. And our suspicions were confirmed today when Disneyland proposed a reopening date of July 17th for both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure!

As with the reopening plan for Disney World, there will be a number of new health and safety measures implemented when the parks begin to welcome back guests.

As part of the new health and safety measures, experiences that draw large group gatherings like parades and nighttime spectaculars will be temporarily suspended. These performances will return at a later date, although an exact timeline has not been determined. This mirrors what we’ve seen announced for Disney World.

Character meet-and-greets will also be temporarily unavailable, although according to Disney, the characters will be in the parks, “in new ways to entertain and delight guests.”

The Disneyland reopening plan needs to be approved by the state and local governments before it is finalized, so we’ll continue to keep an eye out for any updates!

NEWS! THIS Hotel is NOT Listed in the Reopening Plans for Disneyland Resort!

BIG news today for Disney fans: Disneyland has proposed a reopening!

NEWS! THIS Hotel is NOT Listed in the Reopening Plans for Disneyland Resort!

The Disneyland Hotel

Disneyland Resort has been pretty hush-hush about reopening plans, until today! Disney just announced a proposed reopening plan for a phased return to business. Still, though the plan lists the reopening dates for most of the segments of the resort, including Downtown Disney, one piece of Disneyland is notably missing.

Where is the Disneyland Hotel in the plans?! Downtown Disney District is set to open July 9th, Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park are set to open July 17th, and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel are set to open July 23rd; but there is no mention of Disneyland Hotel.

NEWS! THIS Hotel is NOT Listed in the Reopening Plans for Disneyland Resort!

It appears that Disneyland Hotel is not announced as opening in the initial phase. According to Disney, “The Disneyland Hotel will open at a later date. Plans to support physical distancing as well as increased cleaning measures, along with a number of other health and safety protocols, will be implemented as part of the phased reopening of our hotels and the Disney Vacation Club.”

We’re not sure why the hotel has been left out, but we’ll keep you in the loop on all of the coming news about Disneyland’s reopening as soon as more information is shared. Hopefully, we’ll soon be sliding down that monorail slide again!
