Universal Cinemark reopening on July 3rd Universal Cinemark

Good news for cinephiles visiting Universal Orlando Resort! The Universal Cinemark at CityWalk reopens to the public on July 3rd. The movie theater has been closed since mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic, but now it’s returning with new health and safety protocols for guests.

For starters, the movie theater is implementing reduced auditorium capacities and staggered showtimes to help protect guests in accordance with state guidelines. When you purchase movie tickets, the Universal Cinemark will now automatically block the seats adjacent to your party. In addition, they are staggering showtimes to allow more time for guests to exit and prevent overcrowding in our restrooms, halls and lobbies. Wearing a face mask inside the movie theater is currently optional unless state or federal guidelines change in the future. The theater also encourages visitors to purchase their tickets online to help advocate contactless ticketing.

The Cinemark employees are now wearing mandatory personal protective gear such as face masks and gloves. With wellness check-ins and new training for employees, the staff is prepared to help usher in the phased reopening of movie theaters. The staff is also taking extra steps to keep the concession stands and food service areas sanitized.

Lastly, the Universal Cinemark will be offering a selection of “Comeback Classics” to watch in theaters when the movie theater reopens at CityWalk. Click here for more information on what movies will be showing.
