J.K. Simmons Under Contract to Return in Future Spider-Man Films as J.Jonah Jameson

J.K. Simmons Under Contract to Return in Future Spider-Man Films as J. Jonah Jameson. Recently, J.K. Simmons spoke with PeopleTV about his reappearance as J. Jonah Jameson at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home and if fans can expect to see him in the next Spider-Man film.

“I don’t know if I would use the word expect,” Simmons replied. “When we signed on for the first movie we signed a contract to do two sequels as well. Which, that’s always a one-sided, well not always but in my case, a one-sided contract where you’re committed to do it, but they’re not necessarily committed to use your character in the ensuing movies. It was great to have the opportunity as these things evolve to be one of the holdovers from the previous version.”

To keep interest in the franchise going and to celebrate the release of Spider-Man: Far From Home on Digital and with the DVD/Blu-ray, Sony Pictures created a “real life” The Daily Bugle, in the form of an online network called: thedailybugle.net. The fully functioning website shares a special video from none other than J. Jonah Jameson himself, J.K. Simmons, sharing his take on Spider-Man and Mysterio.

The website also features stories based on the incidents in Spider-Man: Far From Home, including articles about Night Monkey, the missing Hydro-Man, and even the recent “raid” on Area 51. (Yes, really)

J. K. Simmons reprised his role as J. Jonah Jameson from the original Spider-Man trilogy starring Toby Maguire and Kristen Dunst for Spider-Man: Far From Home and appeared at the end of the film to tell the world a great BIG twisted secret. The identity of Spider-Man!

You can check out the intro video of J. Jonah Jameson’s first installment on thedailybugle.net below:

We can’t wait to see more of J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson in future Spider-Man films! Be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for all things Marvel.

Epcot’s World Showcase May be Staffed Without Cultural Representatives

It’s being reported that World Showcase in Epcot may be temporarily staffed without cultural representatives when the park first opens. Walt Disney World and Unite Here Local 362 signed a memorandum that addresses how Disney may handle staffing at World Showcase.

The agreement between Walt Disney World and the union covered particular issues such as the order of staff recall and scheduling. Most interestingly, the agreement states that, until Disney is able to resume normal staffing,

Cast Members who “do not meet the culturally authentic theming at EPCOT may be temporarily assigned to work in positions which are otherwise reserved for Cultural Representatives.”

Walt Disney World suspended its Cultural Representative program shortly after the parks closed and had those Cast Members return to their home countries. Due to current travel restrictions, it may be difficult for Cultural Representatives to return to Central Florida.

Epcot is scheduled to reopen on July 15, 2020, along with Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Hugh Jackman Trolls Ryan Reynolds With Kids Birthday Theme

Hugh Jackman Trolls Ryan Reynolds With Kids Birthday Theme. Any fans of the dynamic duo Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds know that the famous best buddies love jabbing one another in internet videos and have hosted a friendly “feud” over the years on social media.

It seems this time Hugh Jackman is taking the first jab after a Marvel fan named Sam enjoyed his 8th birthday themed around Deadpool and Wolverine, the characters portrayed by Jackman and Reynolds in the previously Fox owned Marvel titles.

Hugh Jackman shared the story of Sam in a recent tweet followed by the caption: “Sam celebrated his 8th birthday with dueling #Wolverine and #Deadpool cakes. I think it’s crystal clear won. Don’t you?”

From the photo, it appears Sam is ever so slightly a bigger fan of Wolverine, donning the iconic grimace and stance of Wolverine with claws drawn. Hence, the reason Jackman shared the photo. Currently, Ryan Reynolds has yet to comment on the tweet, but we all know a snarky comment or response can’t be far behind.

Regardless of what Ryan has to say, I’m sure Sam’s birthday was made by the acknowledgement from one of his favorite heroes and we hope he had fun celebrating his 8th birthday. Be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for all things Marvel!

Walt Disney Company issues a statement in a time of unrest in the US

Walt Disney Company

The Walt Disney Company has just issued a statement in this time of unrest due to the killing of George Floyd.

Dear Fellow Employee,

The recent killing of George Floyd as well as other instances of lethal attacks and harassment of unarmed black citizens in our nation continue to drive outrage and calls for action by people of all cultural backgrounds, including many of our employees. Feelings of grief and anger cause us to confront the inscrutable idea that the lives of some are deemed less valuable – and less worthy of dignity, care and protection – than the lives of others.

While these devastating incidents are not new, there’s something unique about what’s happening in this moment. The pandemic coupled with these recent injustices have pushed the issues of racial disparity into the open.

We, too, are struggling to make sense of the recent tragedies that leave us feeling overcome with sorrow. While we don’t have all the answers, we resolve to use our compassion, our creative ideas and our collective sense of humanity to ensure we are fostering a culture that acknowledges our people’s feelings and their pain. We also realize that now more than ever is the time for us all to further strengthen our commitment to diversity and inclusion everywhere.

We intend to focus our efforts and resources to compassionately and constructively talk about these matters openly and honestly as we seek solutions. We intend to keep the conversation going, not just today, but for as long as it takes to bring about real change.
