Disney Fan Recreates Fantasyland and Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride in His Basement

Disney Fan Recreates Fantasyland and Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride in His Basement. Every dedicated Disney Parks fan would love to wake up and walk right into Disneyland or Disney World, but what is that WAS your reality?!?

YouTuber and at-home “imagineer” Travis, aka Larzland, came up with the idea to recreate his favorite portion of Disneyland in his, at the time, unfinished basement. His favorite attraction being Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, Larzland now uses the “inside” of the ride as his base of operations and office while constructing the final touches to his recreation of Fantasyland. The basement also includes Snow White’s Scary Adventure and Pinocchio’s Village Haus.

Homeowner and creator Travis shared a short tour of his reimagined basement via YouTube:

Travis’ attention to detail is incredible, right down to the sprinklers! You can see the full tour hosted by Travis and TheDailyWoo in this second video below:

At the time of filming, Travis shared that the project is still a work-in-progress, and has shared a few videos on his channel on how he recreated the iconic landscape and attractions down to the tiniest details. You can check out his account by CLICKING HERE.

What do you think of his work? Would you want to walk right into a Disney Park from inside your home? What ways do you decorate your home to fill them with the magic of Disney? We would love to see photos and hear your stories in the comments. Be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for all things Disney!

NEWS: Tokyo Disney Resort’s Shopping District to Resume Business June 1st

Just yesterday, it was announced that the Japanese government would be lifting the state of emergency for Tokyo.

In response, it appears that some businesses and destinations are already beginning to reopen. Ikspiari, the shopping and dining district at Tokyo Disney Resort, just announced that it will be reopening on June 1st.

Ikspiari is located near the entrance to Tokyo Disneyland and makes for the Japanese equivalent of Downtown Disney or Disney Springs. The complex has been closed since late February but will be resuming business next Monday, June 1st.

According to the Ikspiari reopening statement, measures will be taken to prevent the spread of infection and to promote the safety and security of employees and customers. If the complex reaches capacity, guests may be asked to wait temporarily for admission.

As a reminder, Tokyo Disney Resort — and Ikspiari — are not owned by Disney. These properties are operated completely by Oriental Land Company and they pay a licensing fee to the Disney company. Still, the reopening likely marks a step towards the return of Tokyo Disneyland.

Brace Yourselves, Round 3 of the Build-A-Bear Baby Yoda Plush Is Coming!

Baby Yoda has been a rather hot commodity when it comes to merchandise (and we’re not complaining)! We’ve seen Baby Yoda necklaces, tees, plush, hats, and SO SO much more.

©CNET

One of the hottest bits of Baby Yoda merchandise that hit the scene was the “The Child” plush by Build-A-Bear. He was released back in April and quickly sold out. He was then re-released at the beginning of May and saw LONG virtual wait times. Now, Build-A-Bear’s “The Child” plush is being released…AGAIN.

“The Child” plush will be released once more TOMORROW.  The pre-waiting room is set to open at 11:30 AM CST and sales will officially start at 12PM CST. This is the ONLY way to secure your Baby Yoda Build-A-Bear.

And due to limited quantities, there will be a select number for sale and as we have seen in the past, they tend to go pretty fast.

Previously, there was a purchase limit of 1, and this particular Build-A-Bear item can’t be purchased “unstuffed.” The product is available exclusively as a bundle with the sound chips (which you can read more about here) for $59.75. We will let you know if the purchase limit or price changes tomorrow.

Epcot’s Mariachi Cobre sing Remember Me from Coco

Mariachi Cobre

Walt Disney World continues the “Voices From Home” campaign with a new special music video of Epcot’s Mariachi Cobre. Many Epcot visitors enjoy seeing Mariachi Cobre each year as the band entertains those who travel through World Showcase. Now the members of Mariachi Cobre return to perform a hit song taken from Pixar’s Coco.

The band worked together to produce a fantastic rendition of “Remember Me.” If you’ve seen the movie, you’ll recognize this familiar melody. You can watch Mariachi Cobre perform the song in the video below.

Mariachi Cobre has been entertaining Walt Disney
World guests since 1982. Their voices and instruments are the reason so many enjoy seeing them entertain in the Mexico Pavilion. They perform warm melodies and world-famous folk music from Jalisco, Mexico. In addition to their traditional songs, the band also plays music from Pixar’s Coco in special seasonal offerings. The vibrant dancers and storytellers who accompany them enhance the experience for those who watch their show!

We have been enjoying these virtual musical performances so far. The music found at Disney World is truly one of the highlights of a Disney vacation. Will you go watch them play at Epcot in the future? Let us know in the comments!
