NEWS: Amorette’s Patisserie Reopened in Disney World Today

While some Disney-owned businesses have reopened at Disney Springs including The Daily Poutine, B.B. Wolf’s Sausage Co., and more recently Once Upon a Toy, we can now add Amorette’s Patisserie to the list!

Amorette’s

We noticed the bakery was finally open today, so we walked on over to check it out!

According to the Cast Member we spoke with, Amorette’s full menu isn’t quite available yet, but they’re hoping to be able to offer all of their items (including sammies) by this Sunday once they get up to speed!

Get the latest scoop on what’s new at Disney Springs here!

Amorette’s Bakery Case

There aren’t any new menu items since we last visited Amorette’s Patisserie back in March. In fact, we spotted an item that’s been around since Valentine’s Day — which we’ll get to in a sec!

Amorette’s Menu

We were happy to see there Wine Slushy machines were up and runnin’ today tho! Hello Shiraz and Moscato!

Wine Slushy Machines

In the dining area, the tables have been moved further apart while social distancing markers on the ground show guests where they should stand while ordering at the counter.

Amorette’s

We also noticed Amorette’s has the new utensil dispensers we’ve spotted previously! These things are so cool because you only touch the hand of the utensil you’re grabbing!

Learn more about Disney World’s new utensil dispensers here!

Amorette’s

Plexiglass shields have been installed at the cash registers and the pastries you order are now served on disposable paper trays. They’re also still accepting all forms of payment.

Amorette’s

But now it’s time to get down to the nitty GRITTY and do what we do best — EAT STUFF! Remember that V-Day treat we mentioned earlier? Well, here it is! Looks-wise, it kinda reminds us of the rose-shaped dessert we enjoyed at Epcot’s Festival of the Arts earlier this year!

Rose Pastry

We can see why this stunning beauty stuck around for a while to give folks time to enjoy it now that Amorette’s has reopened! The Rose Pastry features chocolate mousse, a layer of spongy chocolate cake, and a sweet raspberry filling! We also love how it’s dusted with a rose-red cocoa powder and “dew drops” made of gel icing. It even comes topped with a touch of edible gold leaf!

Rose Pastry

The bottom cake layer of the Rose Pastry was very soft and moist while the mousse texture was almost more like a pudding which we really enjoyed. The raspberry filling’s texture was a little too solid for our liking. It just sort of fell out as a whole and wasn’t too flavorful.

Rose Pastry

All in all, we thought the Rose Pastry is great if you love desserts that combine rich, creamy chocolate with sweet, tart raspberry flavors! You can pick up the Rose Pastry for $8 at Amorette’s Patisserie, now open in Disney Springs!

Check out these adorable Forky socks we just spotted at Disney Springs here!

Are you excited Amorette’s Patisserie is now open? Let us know if you’ll be stopping by in the comments below!

Land West of Animal Kingdom being prepped for new development

Animal Kingdom

A recent report released by Growth Spotter indicates that a real estate developer is planning a future project west of Walt Disney World Resort. A Chicago-area company led by real estate developer and advisor Kimm Dodaro is under contract to purchase land west of Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park. Kimm Dodaro leads a company called the Walter Joseph Group, which specializes in helping charities accept gifts of real estate.

You can see the area of consideration in the above image. Their specific Land Use Plan application states that Dodaro is hoping to develop 260 short-term rental units and a nine-story hotel with up to 240 suites. The tentative real estate project would be done through a company she manages called Walter Blake Inc. The land area they are seeking is approximately 119 acres in size. It’s located north of U.S. 192 and west of Avalon Road.

The area would permit a mix of real estate services for future use. Specifically, it will present short-term rental and time-share opportunities for visitors. The real estate developer’s plans would present fun new options for where to stay while visiting Central Florida’s theme parks! We will provide updates when new information becomes available for the development of this land area west of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Disney World multi-day tickets extended through 2021

Disney World multi-day ticket

A recent update on the Disney website shows that Disney World multi-day tickets have been extended through September 26th, 2021!

Here is what the website reads now.

Partially used multi-day theme park tickets with usage window impacted by park closure, or date-specific theme park tickets purchased through June 6th, 2020 with a valid use period beginning March 12, 2020 or later, will automatically be extended to use any date through September 26th, 2021. If you are unable to visit by September 26th, 2021, you may apply the value of a wholly unused ticket toward the purchase of a ticket for a future date.

To provide additional flexibility, we are waiving Disney-imposed change and cancellation fees up to the date of check-in for reservations with arrivals through the closure period. As a reminder, most reservations can be cancelled online. If Guests need further assistance, they can reach us at the Disney Reservation Center through our online chat feature or by calling our reservation line.

It feels like there are almost daily updates for the reopening to Walt Disney World.

Own a piece of history – Epcot Illuminations Float for sale

IllumiNations

How big of a Walt Disney World fan are you? Would you go as far as to bring home a part of Disney history from Epcot? An online auction held by Ritchie Bros Auctioneers recently featured barges from Epcot’s former nighttime spectacular show “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth.” The barges were once used nightly for pyrotechnics and fireworks while water fountains and lasers helped entertain audiences.

IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth is a show beloved by Disney Park enthusiasts. The show ended its 20-year run with its final performance on September 30, 2019. While the nighttime spectacular may be over, it will always be revered as a great part of Epcot history.

The barges being auctioned are classified as “12×12 Pontoon Marine Equipment.” These barges were brought into World Showcase Lagoon to assist in the pyrotechnic displays across the water. These smaller barges would surround the firework launching sites. It’s incredible to realize how these simple water crafts were once capable of dazzling entertainment displays at Epcot!

If someone has a purpose for the pontoon marine equipment, or if you want to own an obscure part of Epcot history, then check out the auction on the barge!
