BREAKING NEWS: These Disney World Restaurants Will Be OPEN Starting June 22nd!

Big news, everybody! We now know MORE about the return of our beloved Disney World restaurants!

Beaches and Cream

Disney World theme parks are set to begin a phased reopening on July 11th, but at the end of this month, signs of guest life will begin returning to Disney World. Disney Vacation Club Resorts and Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground will reopen on June 22nd. Now, Disney has released the list of ALL of the RESTAURANTS that will be opening that day!

Many dining experiences will be unavailable and the ones that are open will be modified with new health measures. Here’s everything that’s opening on June 22nd!

Disney’s Contemporary Resort

The reopening restaurants in Disney’s Contemporary Resort include:

The Wave…of American Flavors Entrance

We can’t wait to get back to those yummy cupcakes at Contempo Café, but we can’t say we’re not a little bummed that California Grill won’t be reopening at first!

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

The reopening restaurants in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge include:

Whispering Canyon Cafe

Many of our favorite options are reopening at Wilderness Lodge! It will be nice to watch the sunset from Geyser Point Bar & Grill once more.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

The reopening restaurants in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge include:

Animal Kingdom Lodge

If you know us, you know we love Sanaa. Butter Chicken, here we come!

Want to see why we love Sanaa? Click here!

Disney’s Beach Club Resort

The reopening restaurants in Disney’s Beach Club Resort include:

No Way Jose

Beaches and Cream Soda Shop just reopened from renovation a couple months prior to the closure, so returning guests will get to enjoy the newly-updated space.

For more info on the Beaches and Cream renovation, click here!

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn

The reopening restaurants in Disney’s BoardWalk Inn include:

Disney’s BoardWalk

Keep in mind that most Character Dining options will not be returning when the parks reopen. So don’t expect to hang with Rapunzel and Flynn Rider at Trattoria al Forno’s Bon Voyage Breakfast.

Didn’t know you could meet Flynn Rider in a restaurant? Click here!

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground

The reopening restaurants in Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground include:

Welcome to Fort Wilderness!

You’ll notice that many buffet options, like Trail’s End Restaurant, will remain closed for the time being.

Disney’s Old Key West Resort

The reopening restaurants in Disney’s Old Key West Resort include:

Olivia’s Cafe

Oh yeah, Key Lime Pie, we’re coming for you!

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

The reopening restaurants in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort include:

Polynesian Lava You

We had our fingers crossed for ‘Ohana since the meals are served family-style, but it looks like no dice! And, you can go ahead and scratch out the time you had planned to stand in line for Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto. At least we can soothe our woes with some Dole Whip concoctions.

Dreaming of Dole Whip, click here!

Disney’s Riviera Resort

The reopening restaurants in Disney’s Riviera Resort include:

Disney’s Riviera Resort

Here’s a win: ALL of the dining options at the new Riviera Resort will be reopening! Topolino’s Terrace will even have their character dining — just with some changes.

Click here for our FULL REVIEW of the character breakfast at Topolino’s Terrace!

Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort

The reopening restaurants in Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort include:

Beef and Egg Thin Crust Pie

You may not be sitting down at Turf Club Bar & Grill at Saratoga Springs, but you’ll still have your fair share of dining options.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

The reopening restaurants in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort include:

The Library at Enchanted Rose

Of course, we’re excited to see that many of the dining locations are open at Grand Floridian, but it definitely makes us sad that none of the fancy table-service restaurants are opening. That means no 1900 Park Fare, no Narcoossee’s, no Citricos, and no Victoria & Albert’s initially.

There you have it! That’s all of the reopening options coming back to Disney World before the end of the month. As of right now, reservations aren’t open for these spots, but we’ll be sure to update when they are. We’ll keep an eye out for any changes to the list, too!

Click here to learn more about the health measures to expect in reopened restaurants!

Will you be headed to dine at one of the reopened resort restaurants? Tell us in the comments!

NEWS: One Character Dining Experience IS Returning To Disney World!

When Disney World reopens, there’s one restaurant that will give guests their character fix!

Walt Disney World

Select Disney World Resort hotels will begin reopening on June 22nd. Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom will be the first parks to welcome back guests on July 11th, followed by Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios on July 15th. As things initially reopen, there will be a number of changes implemented for the safety of guests and Cast Members.

And one of those health and safety precautions is the temporary suspension of all Character Dining experiences.

Meet and Greet at Cinderella’s Royal Table

But, there is one exception — according to the Disney World website, Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera will offer a modified Character Dining experience.

Topolino’s Terrace

This rooftop restaurant is located in Disney’s Riviera Resort, and before the closure, a character meal was offered during breakfast.

Topolino’s Terrace Breakfast a la Art Characters

Disney hasn’t yet released specific details on what the modified Character Dining experience will entail, but at least there will be one restaurant where guests can get their character fix!

What to Expect When Dining at Walt Disney World Following Coronavirus

A big part of the Walt Disney World vacation for many is dining. Disney has recently shared details of what Guests can expect to experience when looking to dine while visiting the resort following the closure due to the coronavirus. Enhancements made to the dining experiences are based on guidance from health authorities, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and appropriate government agencies.

During the reopening period, many dining experiences may be modified or unavailable in order to promote cleanliness and physical distancing. In addition, Guests ages 2 and up will need to wear face coverings in all public areas, including while entering and exiting dining establishments. These coverings can be removed while eating and drinking.

For those looking to dine in a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you will need to have a confirmed reservation, particularly if you are a day Guest.

When the parks reopen, in order to dine at table service locations, you’ll need valid park admission, a reservation for park entry and a dining reservation. Keep in mind these reservations do not guarantee admission to the park.

When Guests visit a restaurant moving forward, they will notice that Disney has increased cleaning in high-traffic areas such as public elevators and escalators, handrails, benches, tables, handles, restrooms and more. Additionally, seating areas, dining areas and pagers will be cleaned between Guests. Menus will be shared in ways to minimize contact. For those eating at quick-service restaurants, menus will be displayed on signage. At table-service restaurants, you will have the ability to scan a QR code with your mobile device to access the digital menu.
Items like beverages that were previously self-serve will instead be served by Cast Members.

Additional changes to Walt Disney World dining experiences include:

  • Character Dining will not be offered during the initial reopening, with the exception of a modified experience at Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera.
  • Dinner shows will not be offered during the initial reopening.
  •  Restaurants will be limited in capacity. Some locations will remain temporarily closed.
  • Private dining and in-room delivery will not be offered during the initial reopening window.
  • Mobile order service will be offered at select quick service locations throughout the Walt Disney World theme parks (when open), Disney Springs and select Disney Resort hotels.

At the end of your meal when it’s time to pay, you’ll strongly be suggested to use cashless payment options, including debit cards, credit cards and Disney Gift Cards. Guests can also opt for contactless payment options like mobile wallets. Disney Resort hotel Guests can also use MagicBands to charge their purchase to their room.

Disney did announce previously that Disney Dining Plans have officially been cancelled. If you had booked the Disney Dining Plan, you will be refunded your money and those who had Free Dining will have that part of their reservation cancelled. In addition, if you did have an Advance Dining Reservation made prior, they have also been cancelled.

Guess Who’s Back?! The Color Block Corkcicles Have RETURNED in Disney Springs!

Although merchandise comes and goes in Walt Disney World, it can pretty exciting when you’re surprised with a returning item that you thought was gone for good!

The Basket at Wine Bar George

Ever since Wine Bar George’s The Basket has been serving up its “Fries and Frozen” promo, we’ve been snagging up all that frozen Dole Whip goodness in their cute, reusable Corkcickles they sell. But soon after we first spotted the newest color option, the restaurant was all out of the accompanying teal and lime color block Corkcicles.

We were told that there was a possibility that the new Color Block Corkcicle would not be returning after it sold out, but we were SUPER excited to see it was back again today!

New Corkcicle

Remember that the refill procedures are a bit different now! You can still go back to The Basket for $10 refills of FroscatoFrosé, or Freaujolais after purchasing a Corkcicle for $13, but the quick-stop will put your drink in a plastic cup instead of directly in the Corkcicle.

New Corkcicle Procedure

Even though they used to refill it inside the Corkcicle itself, The Basket is following the health and safety procedures at Disney Springs during this time. If you want the refill, you’ll still need to bring your Corkcicle along with you to show to the cashier to get the discount! Those frozen drinks are SO worth it, though.

Read our full review of Wine Bar George’s re-opening here!

What’s your favorite drink to get at The Basket? Let us know in the comments below!
