BREAKING NEWS: These Disney World Restaurants Will Be OPEN Starting June 22nd!

Big news, everybody! We now know MORE about the return of our beloved Disney World restaurants!

Beaches and Cream

Disney World theme parks are set to begin a phased reopening on July 11th, but at the end of this month, signs of guest life will begin returning to Disney World. Disney Vacation Club Resorts and Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground will reopen on June 22nd. Now, Disney has released the list of ALL of the RESTAURANTS that will be opening that day!

Many dining experiences will be unavailable and the ones that are open will be modified with new health measures. Here’s everything that’s opening on June 22nd!

Disney’s Contemporary Resort

The reopening restaurants in Disney’s Contemporary Resort include:

The Wave…of American Flavors Entrance

We can’t wait to get back to those yummy cupcakes at Contempo Café, but we can’t say we’re not a little bummed that California Grill won’t be reopening at first!

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

The reopening restaurants in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge include:

Whispering Canyon Cafe

Many of our favorite options are reopening at Wilderness Lodge! It will be nice to watch the sunset from Geyser Point Bar & Grill once more.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

The reopening restaurants in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge include:

Animal Kingdom Lodge

If you know us, you know we love Sanaa. Butter Chicken, here we come!

Want to see why we love Sanaa? Click here!

Disney’s Beach Club Resort

The reopening restaurants in Disney’s Beach Club Resort include:

No Way Jose

Beaches and Cream Soda Shop just reopened from renovation a couple months prior to the closure, so returning guests will get to enjoy the newly-updated space.

For more info on the Beaches and Cream renovation, click here!

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn

The reopening restaurants in Disney’s BoardWalk Inn include:

Disney’s BoardWalk

Keep in mind that most Character Dining options will not be returning when the parks reopen. So don’t expect to hang with Rapunzel and Flynn Rider at Trattoria al Forno’s Bon Voyage Breakfast.

Didn’t know you could meet Flynn Rider in a restaurant? Click here!

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground

The reopening restaurants in Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground include:

Welcome to Fort Wilderness!

You’ll notice that many buffet options, like Trail’s End Restaurant, will remain closed for the time being.

Disney’s Old Key West Resort

The reopening restaurants in Disney’s Old Key West Resort include:

Olivia’s Cafe

Oh yeah, Key Lime Pie, we’re coming for you!

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

The reopening restaurants in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort include:

Polynesian Lava You

We had our fingers crossed for ‘Ohana since the meals are served family-style, but it looks like no dice! And, you can go ahead and scratch out the time you had planned to stand in line for Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto. At least we can soothe our woes with some Dole Whip concoctions.

Dreaming of Dole Whip, click here!

Disney’s Riviera Resort

The reopening restaurants in Disney’s Riviera Resort include:

Disney’s Riviera Resort

Here’s a win: ALL of the dining options at the new Riviera Resort will be reopening! Topolino’s Terrace will even have their character dining — just with some changes.

Click here for our FULL REVIEW of the character breakfast at Topolino’s Terrace!

Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort

The reopening restaurants in Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort include:

Beef and Egg Thin Crust Pie

You may not be sitting down at Turf Club Bar & Grill at Saratoga Springs, but you’ll still have your fair share of dining options.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

The reopening restaurants in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort include:

The Library at Enchanted Rose

Of course, we’re excited to see that many of the dining locations are open at Grand Floridian, but it definitely makes us sad that none of the fancy table-service restaurants are opening. That means no 1900 Park Fare, no Narcoossee’s, no Citricos, and no Victoria & Albert’s initially.

There you have it! That’s all of the reopening options coming back to Disney World before the end of the month. As of right now, reservations aren’t open for these spots, but we’ll be sure to update when they are. We’ll keep an eye out for any changes to the list, too!

Click here to learn more about the health measures to expect in reopened restaurants!

Will you be headed to dine at one of the reopened resort restaurants? Tell us in the comments!

More Disney Vacation Club Details Released — Including ANOTHER Extension of Their Temporary DVC Points Policy!

Now that Disney World’s theme parks have proposed a reopening date of July 11th and July 15th, several Disney World hotels have also confirmed they’ll be reopening starting in June for Disney Vacation Club Members.

Disney Vacation Club Kiosk at Animal Kingdom

The purchasing of park tickets and hotel reservations has been temporarily paused while Disney World prepares its new reservation system, but we did just receive an email from Disney with additional information for DVC guests.

Disney Vacation Club (DVC) properties at Walt Disney World and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground will begin to reopen to members and guests on June 22nd. Additionally, DVC properties in Vero Beach, Florida, and Hilton Head, South Carolina will reopen on June 15th.

Disney has shared the following safety measures will be implemented upon guests’ arrival:

  • Enhanced cleaning of all rooms prior to arrival, including additional measures for dishware and appliances for Disney Vacation Club units, along with the standard Disney Vacation Club housekeeping services during your stay
  • Increased cleaning and sanitization in high-traffic areas
  • New hand-sanitizing stations in key areas
  • Physical distancing at restaurants, lobbies, pools, fitness centers and other public areas, including reducing capacity where appropriate

Disney is also strongly encouraging guests to utilize mobile check-in via the My Disney Experience app as well as contactless forms of payment while on property. All Cast Members and guests will also be required to wear face masks in public areas of the hotels for the duration of their stay.

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn

Reopening dates for The Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa as well as Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas, Ko Olina Hawai’i have not been determined yet, but Disney will be providing updates about those resorts as soon as information becomes available.

Finally, for DVC guests concerned about their unused points, Disney is changing and extending their temporary policies regarding expiring points again.

According to Disney, “April, June, and now August, September, and October 2019 Use Year points that are set to expire in 2020 and that were used for reservations during the closure period will be extended for one year from the current expiration date.”

“Additionally, April, June and now August, September and October 2018 Use Year points that were banked into 2019 Use Years and used for these reservations will now all expire November 30, 2020. NEWS! Walt Disney World Hotels Reopening DATES and Details Announced

This morning Disney World presented a proposal for a phased reopening of the parks starting July 11th.

Disney’s Riviera Resort

Disney’s proposal included a lot of details about the expectations for reopening, but it did not touch on the reopening dates for resorts or Disney Vacation Club Properties. Shortly after the presentation though, Disney posted reopening dates for Disney Vacation Club properties at Disney World and more. Here are all of the current details.

Disney has shared that “pending approval from government officials, the phased reopening plans we submitted calls for Walt Disney World theme parks and Disney Resort hotels to open beginning July 11 for Magic Kingdom Park and Disney’s Animal Kingdom followed by EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios on July 15.”

According to the Disney World website, Disney Vacation Club (DVC) properties at Walt Disney World and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground will begin to reopen to members and guests on June 22nd. DVC properties in Vero Beach, Florida, and Hilton Head, South Carolina will reopen on June 15th.

As of now, Disney has not released information on whether all of the resorts will open at once in Disney World or if they will open in phases. Regardless, they note that Disney resort hotel offerings may be modified, limited in capacity, and subject to availability or closure.

Welcome to Fort Wilderness!

Disney has also shared that they are temporarily pausing new ticket sales and Disney Resort hotel reservations so that they can focus on those with existing tickets and reservations at this time. DVC members can still make new reservations. “Existing ticket holders and Annual Passholders will be able to make reservation requests in phases before new tickets are sold; we’ll be reaching out to these guests soon to provide additional details.” Ticket sales and hotel reservations will resume after this period of time.

Keep an eye on DFB for updates about further reopenings in Disney World and click the links below for more information on the historic Disney World closure.
