Dave Avanzino, a long-time Disney artist, is launching his debut solo exhibition at Downtown Disney’s WonderGround Gallery from November 12-15. Originally training as a singer and performer for Disney attractions, Avanzino transitioned to paper sculpture after an art instructor encouraged him to try framing Disney artwork. His intricate hand-painted paper sculptures often feature beloved Disney characters and landmarks like Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, and classic rides. For this exhibition, Avanzino will showcase Muppets-inspired pieces alongside displays from his earlier illustrated manuscript style. His work is noted for its unique artistic approach and carefully detailed references to Disney’s magic. The gallery will display limited editions, gallery-wrapped canvases, and matted prints of his new creations.
