Work is actively underway on the new Monstropolis land and Monsters Inc Doors Coaster at Disney Hollywood Studios. The project involves replacing the former Muppets Courtyard area with reimagined venues including a new Harryhausen’s restaurant. A brand new show will replace the existing MuppetVision 3D theater while preserving much of its original structure. Construction includes installing support columns for the upcoming suspended roller coaster which will feature a vertical lift mechanism. The land design draws inspiration from Shanghai Disneyland’s successful Zootopia area with immersive storefronts and detailed facades. Demolition of the Stage 1 Company Store has opened up the courtyard space significantly improving guest flow. Disney expects this major addition to open in 2028 following Tropical Americas debut later that year. The new attraction will utilize one of the largest show buildings at Walt Disney World facilities.
