Unlike generic retail stores or third-party gift shops, Disney Character Warehouse locations are official Walt Disney World liquidation outlets staffed by Disney Cast Members. When merchandise reaches the end of a seasonal event, festival, or theme park product cycle, unsold overstock and retired items are transferred from Walt Disney World Resort directly to these stores.
