Disney Cruise Line Adds Haptic Vests And Braille Guidebooks Fleetwide

Disney Cruise Line has introduced haptic vests at the silent disco on every ship in its fleet, allowing guests who are deaf or hard of hearing to feel music and sound effects through physical sensations. The company is also rolling out braille and tactile guidebooks across all vessels and island destinations to support guests with visual disabilities. Maura King, manager of accessibility at Disney Cruise Line, noted that these changes enable previously excluded guests to fully participate in onboard entertainment. The new offerings include tactile maps and venue information available on request at Guest Services and at Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. These additions complement existing services such as accessible staterooms, captioning, assistive listening systems, and wheelchair accessible public spaces. A dedicated Special Services team assists guests with disabilities both onboard and during shore excursions. Guests can submit a Special Services request form before sailing or contact the team directly for assistance planning their voyage.
