The Disney Vacation Club is developing a new resort called the Disney Lakeshore Lodge, scheduled to open in summer 2027. Located on Bay Lake within the Fort Wilderness Campground property, this resort will feature a more natural and relaxed design compared to typical Disney properties. The lodge will incorporate subtle nods to nature-themed films like Bambi and Pocahontas without heavy character theming. It will offer 967 rooms including new Lake Houses with waterfront views for a more private experience. Guests can enjoy outdoor activities such as canoeing, fishing, and horseback riding while watching Magic Kingdom fireworks from the property. Non-DVC members will also be able to book accommodations once available. Details about dining, pools, and transportation remain unrevealed as Disney continues planning this addition to the resort collection.
