Disney and Mattel are releasing a new line of dolls for the upcoming live-action Moana film, available exclusively at Target starting May 17. The collection features multiple versions of Moana in village-inspired attire with island accessories, plus a new Maui doll complete with his magical fishhook. A special singing doll plays a clip of How Far Ill Go when activated by pressing a button. The most detailed piece is the Collector Doll, which showcases Moana as taupou with elaborate feathered headdress and woven fabrics. This merchandise launch highlights Disney’s grounded Polynesian styling for the film arriving in theaters July 10. Target will be the first U.S. retailer to carry these items before a wider rollout begins May 31. The live-action adaptation stars Catherine Lagaia as Moana with Dwayne Johnson returning as Maui.
