Disney Reorganizes Consumer Products Under Entertainment Studios in 2026 Shift

The Walt Disney Company is implementing a significant restructuring within its consumer products and merchandise division. Starting in October 2026, most operations will transition from Disney Experiences to Disney Entertainment Studios. This strategic move aims to align global retail, licensing, and merchandise teams directly with the film and television studios that create their intellectual property. The reorganization seeks to foster earlier collaboration between creative development and commerce during initial content production phases. By unifying these functions, Disney hopes to strengthen coordination across major franchises like Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, and Walt Disney Animation Studios. Current leadership remains unchanged, with Lisa Baldzicki continuing as President of Disney Consumer Products. This shift represents the second major business unit realignment from Experiences to Entertainment in recent months.
