Disney has begun sharing new details about the upcoming Monsters Inc land replacing the Muppets Courtyard at Hollywood Studios. The expansion will feature a massive building with the first suspended roller coaster at Disney World, taking guests through the iconic doors area from the film. Behind-the-scenes footage reveals construction progress and introduces HUMAN Day, a celebration where humans and monsters learn to understand each other based on new lore discovered by Boo. Additionally, Disney Imagineering revealed plans for an indoor Drawn to Life Playground inspired by Alice in Wonderland at the Walt Disney Studios courtyard. The playground will include themed areas with trees, flowers, houses, and clouds, plus sensory play equipment designed for various ages. This indoor space cleverly works around existing building columns using a collage-like design with flat set pieces and painted art. One standout feature allows visitors to paint flowers red or white as part of the interactive experience. Meanwhile, Goofy has received a fresh paint job and minor repairs after being removed from the Disney Magic for maintenance work. Fans are eagerly awaiting further updates on this exciting expansion alongside other attractions like Harryhausen’s and the Glob Theatre.
