The Walt Disney World Resort has achieved another legal victory in its ongoing property tax disputes with the Orange County Property Appraiser. This latest settlement specifically concerns Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and covers tax years spanning from 2015 through 2023. Under the new agreements, the resort’s assessed market value was reduced by approximately three percent across most affected years. The original valuations ranged between $253 million and $378 million, while revised values now fall between $245 million and $370 million. These adjustments collectively represent a reduction of more than $75 million in property value over the covered period. While this figure is significant, Disney will not receive an immediate refund but rather have its taxes recalculated based on the updated valuations. This win continues a pattern of successful challenges by Disney against county assessments for various properties including Animal Kingdom Lodge and Wilderness Lodge.
