Disney World Closures and New Attractions Update for August 2025

Disney World is experiencing significant changes with multiple attractions closing and new lands being developed. Rivers of America, including the Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island, have permanently closed to make way for the new Cars-themed Piston Peak National Park area. Several other attractions like Carousel of Progress, Vacation Fun, Animation Courtyard, Muppet*Vision 3D, PizzeRizzo, and Mama Melrose’s are also undergoing closures or refurbishments with varying reopening timelines. New developments include Six Ravens opening in Disney Springs and construction on the Das Kaufhaus roof at EPCOT. The new Monsters Inc. land is being developed with confirmed restaurants like Harryhausen’s, while Tropical Americas land Pueblo Esperanza is replacing DinoLand USA. Resort hotels are also seeing ongoing maintenance and refurbishments affecting boat transportation and dining options through 2026 and beyond.
