Disney World Rides Face Frequent Closures Amid Summer Storms

During the summer months, Disney World experiences frequent ride closures, primarily due to afternoon thunderstorms. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train closed 49 times in 23 days, while Prince Charming Regal Carrousel shut down 46 times in 29 days, often due to fireworks. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh closed 45 times in 20 days, raising concerns about its maintenance needs. Surprisingly, the indoor Test Track closed 80 times in 27 days, far exceeding expectations. Spaceship Earth closed 49 times in 25 days, highlighting its need for a refurbishment that Disney has reportedly scrapped. Slinky Dog Dash and Star Wars Rise of the Resistance also saw frequent closures. The data underscores the impact of weather and mechanical issues on ride availability during peak summer season.
