Disney is preparing to open its newest resort, Lakeshore Lodge, at Disney World in summer 2027. This Disney Vacation Club property will be located near Magic Kingdom on the edge of Bay Lake. The hotel concept combines natural themes with Disney magic, and recent updates show significant changes to the lobby design. Originally announced in 2019 as Reflections A Lakeside Lodge, construction was paused during the pandemic before resuming with modifications including a name change. Early renderings featured a prominent Pocahontas statue surrounded by wind-themed decorations, but this element has been removed from the latest concept art. The new lobby design emphasizes nature immersion through floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing views of The Wetlands outdoor recreation area. Instead of the statue, the space will include a fiberoptic river illuminating the floor and a blown-glass Colors of the Wind sculpture. Hundreds of suspended glass leaves will fill the area with movement, color, and wonder according to Disney’s description. Beyond the lobby updates, guests can expect three new dining locations and special viewing areas for Magic Kingdom fireworks each evening. The resort continues to evolve as more information becomes available through official channels and social media platforms.
