Disney has recently removed several Shumard oak trees from the main garden bed at EPCOT’s front entrance, creating an unobstructed view of Spaceship Earth. The trees previously blocked the lower half of the geosphere when in full bloom, though they added a lovely natural touch to the landscape. With their removal, guests now enjoy a perfectly clear line of sight to the park’s iconic landmark immediately upon entering through the gates. The entrance area feels grander and more open while maintaining its vibrant character with beautifully manicured red and white flowers alongside remaining low shrubbery. Disney landscaping continues to evolve, so new lower-profile trees or alternative greenery might be planted in the space in the future. For now, photographers and guests are enjoying these clean, postcard-perfect views of the park’s famous geosphere.
