Frontierland Boardwalk Closure Linked to Piston Peak Construction Project at Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney World is removing the Frontierland boardwalk from its digital maps as part of ongoing construction for the new Piston Peak area. Previously removed kiosks including Big Al’s, Westward Ho, and Churro Wagon Cart have already closed to make space for parade viewing corridors. The remaining shortcut will likely close soon as construction walls approach guest areas near Big Thunder Mountain. Disney plans to rebuild a new waterfront promenade after construction is complete, though the exact design remains uncertain. This closure is necessary to accommodate temporary bypass routes for parades while the new landscape takes shape. Fans express mixed feelings about losing this popular walkway but look forward to the future Piston Peak reveal at D23 Expo in 2026.
