Disneyland’s Downtown Disney district is experiencing significant changes with new food and retail options replacing older establishments. The newly arrived Happy Ice cart will officially open its doors tomorrow, June 19th, coinciding with Juneteenth celebrations. Founded by Lemeir Mitchell, this Los Angeles-based Black-owned brand specializes in Philadelphia Italian ice featuring fruity flavors and premium frozen desserts. This opening marks a historic milestone as the first permanent Black-owned dessert company to establish a presence within the shopping and dining district. To celebrate the grand opening, the first fifty customers will receive complimentary Happy Ice T-Shirts while the next fifty will get free tote bags. The cart operates from 11 A.M. until 11 P.M., offering all-natural treats made with real fruit, pure cane sugar, and high-quality ingredients including specialty layered desserts like JOY-LATI. Visitors can enjoy flavors such as banana pudding and strawberry shortcake alongside traditional Italian ice options. The DFB team plans to visit on opening day for a comprehensive review of this exciting new addition to the area.
