Harry Potter Expansion Coming to Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi With Interactive Magic

New details about an upcoming Harry Potter expansion at Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi reveal plans for interactive magic integrated directly into the scenery. Concept designer Kat Chang from Thinkwell worked on designing attractions, retail spaces, and dining environments while also creating interactive experiences throughout the different areas. The expansion will feature lands inspired by Hogwarts Castle, Diagon Alley, and the Forbidden Forest marking the first Harry Potter themed areas within a Warner Bros branded theme park. A major attraction could center around a flying Ford Anglia ride concept that would not currently exist in Universal s Wizarding World locations. Since Universal s interactive wand system is proprietary Warner Bros World will likely need to develop its own approach rather than copying existing experiences found in Orlando Hollywood Japan and Beijing. The indoor nature of the park gives designers additional freedom to hide technology lighting effects and detailed scenery throughout the new environments without having to contend with outdoor elements. An opening date has not yet been announced but the project is still believed to be several years away from completion.
