Disneyland will temporarily close the Haunted Mansion ride starting August 8th, 2026, to transform it into the popular Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay. This seasonal attraction features Jack Skellington and characters from The Nightmare Before Christmas taking over the iconic mansion for a Halloween and Christmas themed experience. The transformation includes new portraits in the stretching room, holiday-themed tarot card readings by Madame Leota, and spooky renditions of familiar Christmas carols. Guests have one last opportunity to ride the original Haunted Mansion without the overlay on Friday, August 7th before it reopens with the holiday theme on August 21st. The entire mansion will be decorated with pumpkins, spider webs, and Santa hats while audio-animatronic Jack Skellington offers holiday greetings as Sandy Claws. This temporary closure is a significant event for Disneyland visitors who enjoy both the classic attraction and the beloved seasonal overlay.
