Travelers visiting Disney World during hurricane season can feel more reassured this year as forecasts indicate a less active period than usual. The National Hurricane Center predicts between seven and thirteen named storms, with only two to six regular hurricanes and zero to two major hurricanes expected. This represents a significant improvement from typical seasons which average fourteen named storms and three major hurricanes. The probability of experiencing below-normal hurricane activity has increased to seventy-five percent since May predictions. Only two minor tropical storms have occurred so far this season, including Tropical Storm Arthur in June and Tropical Storm Bertha in Texas. While thunderstorms remain common during summer months due to high temperatures, the overall outlook remains favorable for vacationers planning trips between June and September.
