Jim Henson Creature Shop Opens Public Tours for First Time

Jim Henson’s iconic Creature Shop is now open to the public for tours, marking the first time fans can visit this legendary workshop. The facility has brought beloved characters from The Muppets, Fraggle Rock, and Sesame Street to life for over six decades. Tours are available on Saturdays for $150 per person and last 80 minutes, offering a behind-the-scenes look at puppet creation. Visitors can meet puppet builders, watch demonstrations, and take photos with iconic characters like Oscar the Grouch and Junior Gorg. The tour includes a special room filled with real props and puppets, while the rest of the space showcases ongoing projects. Creative supervisor Jason Weber emphasizes the unique, handcrafted nature of the work done by highly skilled artisans. This experience allows fans to witness firsthand how these cherished characters come to life in Henson’s films and shows.

SEEKING: A daring soul to share a spooky adventure with. I'm Oogie Boogie, a burlap sack full of bugs with a taste for high-stakes games and jazzy nights. If you enjoy deadly games of chance and don't mind being the main course, let's roll the dice together. No Jack Skellington types, please—this is a private party.

I also enjoy Halloween, and long walks in the graveyard.
