The Alice in Wonderland themed splash pad at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa has reopened after being closed since mid-August for refurbishment. During the maintenance period, Disney updated the flooring throughout the play area. The most notable change is the giant Mad Hatter hat, which no longer tips forward to dump water on guests. Previously the oversized hat would fill and tip, creating a surprising cascade of water. Now the hat remains stationary while water still flows from its angled position. It remains unclear if Disney will ever restore the hat’s tipping motion. Other refurbishment work continues around the resort including the bus walkway and cafe.
