Monsters Inc Door Coaster Track Progresses At Hollywood Studios

Construction is advancing rapidly on the new Monsters, Inc. door coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, with recent aerial photos revealing significant progress inside the massive building framework. Additional white coaster track mounted on black steel supports has been installed, including a prominent sweeping curved section visible from above. The attraction will feature Disney’s first-ever vertical lift on a coaster and its first suspended roller coaster, where vehicles hang beneath the track to simulate traveling through the movie’s door storage system. Guests will race through the factory’s massive collection of hanging doors, bringing the iconic vault to life in an immersive experience. The broader Monstropolis expansion is transforming the former Muppets Courtyard area into a bustling city inspired by Mike, Sulley, and other characters from the Pixar franchise. Disney has confirmed that portions of Monstropolis will begin opening in 2027, though no specific date has been announced for the door coaster itself.
