New Disney World Hotel Opening in 2027 Sparks Mixed Reactions

Disney is constructing a new Vacation Club resort called Lakeshore Lodge, scheduled to open in summer 2027. The property will feature 967 rooms and will be located near the former River Country water park site. While some fans welcome the expansion, others express concern about how the large resort might alter the peaceful atmosphere of Fort Wilderness. Many guests worry that as a DVC property, the hotel will have high prices that exclude average vacationers. The new Lake Houses feature glass-front designs that some fear will be too hot in Florida’s summer climate. Critics also note that the modern luxury aesthetic may clash with the rustic charm of the surrounding area. Overall, the announcement has generated debate about whether this development aligns with traditional Disney resort experiences.
