New SPIKE PeopleMover Concept to Debut at Orlando Expo Next November

German ride manufacturer Maurer Rides is preparing to unveil a next-generation transportation concept known as the SPIKE PeopleMover at the IAAPA Expo in Orlando this November. The system features electrically powered tracks with glass-walled pods that can navigate steep inclines and vertical sections using a unique 360-degree self-leveling cabin design. Unlike traditional PeopleMover systems that rely on gentle elevated loops, this innovative platform offers what the company calls “Transportainment” blending practical transit with an engaging guest experience. The exhibit will showcase potential applications in theme parks, airports, resorts, and urban transit networks during the expo. While the SPIKE PeopleMover shares a name with Disney’s classic attractions, Maurer Rides has no official connection to Disney Parks. The innovative track technology is distinct from systems used in existing Disney transportation experiences. The manufacturer will display its concept at booth S3467 during the event scheduled for mid-November.

Key Points:

  • The SPIKE PeopleMover by Maurer Rides will be showcased at IAAPA Expo Orlando 2026 running November 16-20 at the Orange County Convention Center

  • Passenger cabins feature a 360-degree self-leveling design that keeps them upright and horizontal even when the track goes vertical or overhead
  • Maurer Rides markets the technology as Transportainment with applications for resorts, airports, theme parks, and urban links
  • The manufacturer will be located at booth S3467 during the event and has not confirmed any connection to Disney Parks
