Starting today — June 18th — coverings must be worn “in common and public indoor spaces and outdoors when distancing is not possible.”

A tweet by the Office of the Governor of California, Gavin Newsom, links to the new face covering mandate, which you can also find here.

Exemptions include — but are not limited to — children ages two and under as well as “Persons who are seated at a restaurant or other establishment that offers food or beverage service, while they are eating or drinking.”

Recently, Orange County (where Disneyland Resort is located) revised its face mask policy. However, as a reminder, this new mandate is statewide. (Guests and cast members at Disneyland Resort will be required to wear face coverings, as noted on the Disneyland Resort website.)

This announcement comes ahead of the proposed reopening of Disneyland Resort, which will — pending approval — begin with the Downtown Disney District on July 9th, followed by the parks on July 17th.
