Stegosauruses Return To Jurassic Park River Adventure Refurbishment Site

New aerial photographs reveal that two Stegosaurus figures have been repositioned along the waterways of Jurassic Park River Adventure at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. The images show the dinosaurs surrounded by construction equipment, exposed mechanical components, and temporary work platforms as crews continue extensive maintenance work. One dinosaur appears to have its outer covering in place while much of the surrounding ride infrastructure remains exposed during this major overhaul. The attraction has been closed since January 5, 2026, for comprehensive repairs to its infrastructure, ride systems, and dinosaur figures that include track, roofing, and themed environment updates. Universal recently pushed the reopening date back from November 20 to December 17, 2026, adding nearly a month to the closure period without providing a specific reason for the delay. This extension means guests will return just ahead of the busy Christmas holiday season after waiting through one of the most extensive refurbishments in years.
