Summer Storms Cause Major Wait Times and Ride Closures at Disney World Parks Today

Severe summer storms have significantly impacted operations across all four Disney World theme parks, leading to numerous ride closures and extended wait times. Magic Kingdom experienced widespread disruptions with Seven Dwarfs Mine Train closed for five hours and TRON Lightcycle Run reaching a 105-minute wait. EPCOT saw Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind hit an extreme 175-minute queue despite having no indoor closures, while Animal Kingdom had two attractions shut down due to rain. Animal Kingdom’s Avatar Flight of Passage peaked at 160 minutes before dropping later in the day. Hollywood Studios presented unique challenges with Slinky Dog Dash hitting 180 minutes at rope drop before decreasing throughout the afternoon. Visitors are advised to have multiple backup plans and consider waiting for lines to shorten rather than facing extreme waits during peak times. The weather-related disruptions highlight the importance of flexible planning when visiting Disney World during summer months.
